You completed the hardest part, Loch Lomond is hard on the feet but the rest is smooth sailing from there to the end

Love The Bridge Of Orchy hotel. Great food and a nice little treat at the half way mark of the trail!

Yes I enjoyed it very much. Definitely could’ve kept walking that day, but I wanted to stay there. Their coffees were excellent!

Great stretch of the WHW. Bridge of Orchy is quite a nice hotel and Kingshouse Hotel is stunning. The showers in the bunkhouse are just brill. Beautiful walk over Rannoch Moor, the scenery is vast. I don’t think my vision has looked that far into the distance in the UK. Once you’re in the Highlands the vistas are phenomenal. fantastic video, hope you are having a wonderful time.

So pleased you got a great day to head on into Glencoe via Rannoch Moor Shan. I was as stoked as you were. I've visited to and it was nice to see it from your approach and to hear your reaction. Good going. Mark

Had a look at the GGW vids , seen this and simply knew you'd love this part of the WHW (one of my favourite places in Scotland that I've walked and camped at scores of times ) the views around the kingshouse are stunning , some of the best you'll see 👍 camped behind the kingshouse on a few occasions last year because of the fantastic weather we had from July to October ( I got the bus up from Glasgow each month just to chill out for a few days and enjoy the walks , fishing , peace and tranquillity ) looking forward to getting back up next year 👆

Hi Shan - warmest greetings form Robin Hood Country - just caught back up with you - I see you're now walking 'packless' - nothing wrong with that, as there are so many ways to accomplish this trail. More important - so good to see that you're feelin' better - such a long way to come and not achieve your goal - really hope you enjoyed your stay at the 'entrance to Glencoe' - those views of 'Buchaille Etive Mor' really need to be etched into your memory - I was there 2012 and had not 'swotted up' on the area. (Didn't pay it enough attention) You'll remember it for ever. Enjoying your 'lone female American' views - refreshingly different - thanks for this 'new view' from an American lady !

Beautiful section over Rannoch Moor I stayed in one of the cabins at the ski centre good job as a big storm came in and blew most of the backpacking tents away 🙃 kingshouse was still not open it was just a building site looks really nice atb daz

Oh my goodness I was so worried about my tent blowing away a few nights! I was so amazed at the beauty of Rannoch Moor. I understand why people walk this trail many times over.

Those hard, rocky roads are no joke! I am pleased to see that you recovered from your illness at last. We didn't see it, but I hope you had the vegan haggis and chips with peppercorn sauce at the Real Food cafe. We are staying in Tyndrum for a few days in August and that is a big reason why. It is great to find somewhere that does good vegan food out in the wild.

Thanks so much for watching and for your comment! I was pleasantly surprised on many places along the way to find vegan options. I was so excited to find the Real Food Cafe!

What is the time of year hikers usually hike this trail.

I know some folks who have walked it in winter, but it’s much more enjoyable in the spring and summer months. Once you get into June there are midges to contend with, which is why I decided to begin my walk in late April. A little colder, not much in bloom yet but no midges.
