Guyana is part of the Caribbean but it isn't part of the West Indies. The West Indies are a group of islands that are comprimised of three major physiographic divisions which are (Lucayan Archipelago, The Greater Antilles, and The Lesser Antilles) and Guyana is on the northern coast of the South American continent. The Caribbean is compromised of the West Indian islands, and the mainland countries in the region that have ONLY one coast facing either the waters of the Caribbean Sea and/or the North Atlantic Ocean and no other other oceans (e.g The Pacific Ocean, and The South Atlantic Ocean). Those countries are the Central American country of Belize, and the South American countries of Venezuela, Guyana, Suriname, and French Guiana

West Indian as in from the West Indies. When Columbus reached the Caribbean, he thought he was in Asia (then called the East Indies) and Spain picked up the error and called it the West Indies. However, West Indians of Indian heritage are often called East Indians. So dem fellas in dat flim is East Indian West Indian, LOL.

I am African-American, but I am very familiar with Caribbean culture. There are times when Americans can be arrogant with regard to other people's cultures. If this game is not real, it should be made real to teach many Americans that there are other ways to see things that are as correct to members of different culture as we believe our to be correct. @MsExoticBliss Third... Im Trinidadian. My culture... which you fail to see. Consists of Carib Indian, African, East Indian, Chinese and Scottish heritage. There is a variation of this you know. Now as my country's history and very well mixed society (as is most Caribbean Cultures). We have evolved in a "race" that calls itself "West Indian". We can identify which specific cultures... but there is no "one race" in Caribbean Culture... hence the phrase "WEST INDIAN".
