Thank you this is the 3rd vid I've watched of yours they're quite good. The one with all the journals is my favorite of the 3 because it will help me as I live all on my own & I'm still learning how to be productive with my day b/c I'm all on my own. I will buy a few from my local dollar store ( the old composition books). Thank you again your days are certainly WAY more busy so I appreciate the few minutes of time you take to talk to us.

Are cadets just allowed to record stuff like you do and ThomasVlogs did, or is it just a firstie privilege?

Most of the stuff on my channel is from when I was a yuk and cow so it's whomever. People still give you funny looks though haha

How hard was it to get in for you? I'm considering it, but the 9% admissions rate terrifies me, and I'm worried my grades won't be good enough. Tips? I love your videos, btw, really make me laugh, and helped me learn more about West Point from a student standpoint.

After my second deployment my company commander went off to be a professor at West Point. But like you said it’s a big school I doubt you know him. At the time he was a major. But this was some time back. I’m sure it’s LC or full bird colonel Rice. But at the time he left us it was Major Rice. You actually might know him he’s a huge white dude hard to miss a 6’6 guy that has arms like a cannon.

No shit he was actually my Physics instructor. By far one of my favorite officers I’ve had here. I learned a lot from him. But yeah that guy is terrifying physically.

It's a small Army. He was a great company commander. If you ever see him mention his 2009 deployment with 1st Engineer battalion 41ST EN CO He'll get a kick out of that i'm sure.

Be humble and selfless.

To preface this I'm not an officer nor was I accepted at West Point or anything of the like but I am an active duty soldier, went through BCT and all that junk. I want to say, stay motivated and hungry for more areas to improve or experience. Just as he said above, don't quit. Remember what your goals are work through them one day at a time.

Frank Veri Congrats on the appointment! I’m USMA Co17. Hope ya don’t mind if I chime in on ur question. 1) Have a positive attitude and enjoy it where you can. I say that cuz there are unfortunately times it will suck, and alotta ppl can be real cynical about it. Frankly that kinda attitude won’t help anyone or anything so just always try to make the best out of your situation at all times. 2) Recognize that you are still a person and that the cadre in charge of you are also just people, despite the military hierarchy. Sounds kinda silly but you’ll see at R-day. The cadre are upperclassmen (like I was) in charge of running beast, so it’s also a learning experience for them as much as it is for you. I learned tons during my beast and the 2nd time around when I was cadre (I was an XO). 3) Acquire a fan if you’re allowed to do so. It’s hot. 4) Show up in decent shape. That’s only push-ups, sit-ups, and the run they really care about. If you can do that you’ll be fine with rucking. 5) When you get issued MREs and ppl exchange snacks and stuff see if you can make a “key lime pie.” It’s vanilla pudding mix + lime beverage powder + water + crushed crackers. It’s actually not too bad. Lol so some points here are more serious than others, but HMU if you got any specific questions. You’re in for a good time.

I'm trying for class of 2023. You guys have any tips on how to improve my application to be a 'stronger' candidate? I don't really have that much varsity years in highschool.

How did you prepare physically for West Point? What kind of distances should I be running to get ready?
@Justin_Taylor6 жыл бұрын
Le Memelord this might sound counter intuitive but I tell people not to worry about prepping for West Point physically too much. Enjoy the freedom you have before you get here. I spent more time hanging out with friends on weekends and after classes rather than working out once I got accepted. Anyone can pass Beast physically, it’s not designed to fail you.

Hi Justin do you know Ethan Sayers who is a lieutenant or Cornell savoie who has just finished his cadetship and isd now a second lieutenant. Cornell Savoie graduated in the middle of June, 2020. You are a young dynamic handsome young man and I'm sure very popular with women. Me and my husband live in Australia. Do you know anyone in Australia or even in the military in our country?

Hello, I am currently applying to West Point now and I wanted to know if you would be willing to give our your ACT or SAT grade because I am taking it now and want to see how I compare to West Point cadets.
@Justin_Taylor6 жыл бұрын
Never took the SAT (wasn't offered in my state really). But my ACT was a 32 or 33 I think. West Point admissions publishes the ACT and SAT stats of each class I believe if you want more data on that.
@Justin_Taylor6 жыл бұрын
I think that was my super score. Could be wrong though high school was a long time ago haha.
@anthonymarco92986 жыл бұрын
Thanks man! I am looking for a 32 super score. I have spoken to a few other cadets and they said my GPA and other credentials are very competitive so I now I am worrying about securing my ACT score.
