I loved that the movie was dark it IS ABOUT GANG MEMBERS. It’s realistic. Tony was the leader of the gang but in the original he’s so milktoast it’s hard to believe he would have been the leader of a gang. In the new version it makes sense. I love the old version as well, but this was more of a drama with music which I didn’t mind. Just my opinion.

This did not have the magic of Robert Wise Jerome Robbins production this was all depressing a dark movie. The Exchange between the two girls was the only thing it was done right
