West Suffolk Council Annual Meeting 23rd May 2023

The annual meeting of West Suffolk Council held on 23rd May 2023 in Bury St Edmunds, with the boring bits cut out. The meeting went on and on for nearly 50 minutes, but this has been cut down to 10mins to include the best bits!
This is the first time the West Suffolk Council has not been controlled by the Conservatives
How interesting to see the Conservatives having to threaten the Independents over who they would vote for the Leader of the Council. They really thought they had this wrapped up and I am very happy to see the Conservatives squirm. Very typically, the whole of the back row of the Conservatives did not even have the decency to clap Cliff Waterman over his clear majority.
The councillor sitting on the back row, did not have the decency to clap, sour grapes or bad attitude, they were certainly not happy. The councillors on the back row were

In essence, the Conservatives have made themselves look totally pathetic trying to bad mouth the West Suffolk Partnership, they have shown their true colours of obnoxious arrogance. Strange also that after having made a Freedom Of Information request regarding the meetings held at West Suffolk House about the Rougham Airstrip, it is interesting to see that those involved were not named - That part of the request was refused, however, on further investigation, it transpires that it was the cabinet at the time who had made the decisions.
This cabinet included Sarah Mildmay-White who had told the people at the Rougham Airfield that she was supporting them, YET, making decisions about the land under the cover of "the cabinet" - Saying one thing to one group, and doing another behind closed doors.
