I'm binging West Wing again nowadays Saw last 7 episodes of Season 3 today About to start Season 4 This show is amazing and I can't get enough of it. I love how CJ handles the press perfectly everytime, and Sam with his eloquence, and Josh with his competitive attitude, Donna being like us (audience) trying to grasp all the knowledge she can about issues and Margret with her comic timings, Leo being the best adviser & a great listener to Jed, the perfect leader who teaches me something everytime I hear him speak. Seriously, Sorkin wrote poetry there. My favourite ofcourse is Toby, with his brilliance, his eloquence, his ideas and morals and ofcourse frumpy attitude. Didn't like any new characters introduced after Season 3. In guest character Ainsley was ofcourse my favourite. Still hate Matt Santos and Toby's ending.

+hanscombe72 - I'm not suggesting either side of the political aisle. Although the only candidate I could have supported was John Kasich (even though I tend to lean towards the left). But, wouldn't it be great if we could have a Presidency more like the one we saw in the West Wing. Like I said, I'm 65. So, I went through the Democratic convention in '68. This year is the scariest thing I've ever seen in American politics. How does this happen ? Sorry if I got political. It can be a bad thing to talk about politics, religion or abortion on social media. Best wishes, Ted.
@hanscombe728 жыл бұрын
As an Australian (And we just got through a federal election of our own) I think we are looking at the political climate in the US with a certain amount of horror. We live in a country with gun control, socialised free medical care and a regulated banking system. All of these things seem to be horrifying to the American Right. There are a myriad of reasons why people would vote against their own interests. Remember, the West Wing screened at the height of the Bush Presidency and there was a great deal of wishing for a president like Bartlett who was not only a Democrat but had a staggering intellect and was devoted to service. I loved what Bernie Sanders had to say about equality, a living wage and social justice. America looks to me that if you are poor, sick or struggling in any way its because you deserve it and any safety net is an intrusion on personal freedom. As Toby Ziegler said, "Government should be place where no one is left behind - an instrument of good.

SING STREET and HUNT FOR THE WILDERPEOPLE. They both tend to be under the radar. But, they are really good. Best wishes, Ted
@theolamp53128 жыл бұрын
+hanscombe72 - If you mean the republican party as being the American Right, I partially agree. But, I think both of the major parties are to blame for our current situation. They are playing a power game that has moved away from what should be the ideals of running for political office. We, as a people are supposed to choose the best and the brightest. And, hopefully the ones with integrity. We have failed. Instead we choose two candidates who could have easily been indicted on felony charges. I like Bernie Sanders. But, he would be 5 years older than Reagan when he took office. I'm 65, so I don't really have a prejudice against age. But you have to look 4 or 8 years ahead. And, that scares me. That's why I picked Kasich. And he also seemed to have the most presidential demeanor to me. And, Presidents have to be able to meet and hold their own with foreign heads of state.Thanks for your intelligent reply, Ted

@ThePghost 24 hours later looking up statistics doesn't make you intelligent either which is why I did not bother It just proves you can Google shit🤣 And I'm not a liberal, or a Democrat I believe all politicians are corrupt and inept Some more than others Trump is a moron He tanked a casino Do you know how dumb you have to be to run a casino into the ground? It is a license to print money Or how about The number of times the so called great businessman has gone bankrupt Obama unfortunately proved himself inteffective, as demonstrated by his failure to push his gun control agenda in, think of how many lives could've been saved And before you start, I'm a hunter, I just believe in some gun control, such as we have here in Australia You want some statistics, facts, and figures, Google is but one click away How about you look up how many americans have died in the last for years due to the cost of healthcare en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Health_care_in_the_United_States Or how Trump cut funding for the CDC and then immediately regretted it when Coronavirus hit You know how far the USA has fallen in education? Awesome! Now I have a compulsion to view "the Jackal" episode. Great show... wonderful cast. I have no issue with celebrities teaming up with the White House to bring attention to this issue. So much attention on marijuana (legal and illegal) that we overlook that our society has a serious prescription drug problem. Florida just cleaned up their "pill mills" in the last five(5) years thanks to the scrutiny placed on it by national news coverage and legislation, but the problem still persists in other places without the spotlight that helped Florida get its act cleaned up.

JamesGU4 Who knew getting along with people you work with could help you succeed at your job?
@crucisnh6 жыл бұрын
It's a lot easier to get along with the people you work with when they don't clearly hate your guts. Maybe if the press hadn't been firing full volleys across the ship of state, even before it left port (so to speak), the crew of that ship might be a little more willing to be friendlier. In short, you reap what you sow. And the press has been sowing entire counties of discord and hatred. They might try planting a less hostile crop and stick to doing their real job, rather than acting as the mouth pieces for the DNC as well as left wing activists who spend more time promoting their own personal views in the guise of "asking questions" than listening to the answers.

Many of us remember the pool scene. Josh Earnest is a wonderful name for a White House press secretary because "josh" in English indicates one is joking and "earnest" means one is genuine, so his two names rather contradict one another. Miss "West Wing."
