50 years ago when I got saved as a teenager the Jesus Movement had swept it's way to the Southeast of the US and it wasn't so hard to be a Christian youth. In times like these every Christian youth faces temptations even my parents couldn't have imagined. But the upside is that any Christian, and youth especially, that truly live for Christ shine bright like diamonds in a very dark world

Worship music like this gives us those moments of deep experience where we realize that there is a reality that is above all our clever thoughts and that is much greater than our language. I have studied a lot of philosophy, and often critical thoughts against the Word of God rise up in one. Some things do not seem logical, not consistent in the Bible and in Christianity, and one is tempted by one's own pride to judge them. Steep yourself in your relationship with Jesus. Let these become more than words to you but sure declarations! Do you believe what you are singing?! Live it! Everyday. I'm 61 years old now. I've known the Lord since I received Christ as an 11 year old boy at a Billy Graham Crusade. I followed hard after Christ in my youth. My path has had valleys & disappointments & trials that have turned to show me the Lord in ways I never dreamed I would come to know Him through. The great trial was years long like when David ran from Saul. It was years. But the deepest valley has become the highlight of my life and in such a profound manner that it serves to somehow define my life. I look back on it now and see it as the highlight of my life but I don't ever want to go through that again. I had big dreams and instead of being in the ministry, I was sitting on the curbside of life watching all my dreams burn up as a parade of sin before me played out. I was so devistated, I didn't even know what to pray. Satan was after my purity and my faith. I knew I was at the bottom in a way I couldn't describe nor define. I went to Jone's Field at the end of a dirt road one night to pray among the corn. The LORD heard me that night. The Holy Spirit is real. I knew not what to pray. I never in my life did I know I had God's ear like I did that night as I knelt on the ground. My ex was in awful adultery and lyiing about me up one side and down another. I was getting his on by super babes & was lonely & horny but I had the strength to follow the Lord. I told the Lord, "Lord, you gave Gideon a sign. You gave my brother Hyles a sign & healed his throat. You're not a respector of persons, but I'm asking You to let me know You're still involved: smash her car but DONT HURT HER. Let me know you're involved in this mess". Never have I prayed knowing I had God's ear like I did that night. When I got home a few hours later, my ex, who became my persecutor, left 7 messages on my answering machine: message 1..."something happened", message 2 "I've been in a wreck". and on she told me 7X! that she had totaled her car and was OK. The Pontiac Sunbird was totaled & I never saw the car again! And I kept reading in the Word that week "ye shall know that I am the LORD" and it spoke to me but I wasn't sure what it meant. Then this happened. Then, 3 days later was church & sister Corina Burrel a sweet 15 year old girl , Harold's daughter, just wrote a song and sang it in church for teh 1st time: "He is the Lord"! Remember I didn't know what to pray as in a sense? The Holy Spirit made intercession for me that night and The Father & Son knew: the LORD AFFIRMED HIMSELF! That's what I needed! Nobody can make a comfort in life's darkest trials like the Holy Spirit can. And when it happens, is so simple, so profound that you're speechless and in awe. You will never be the same when you come out of a trial like that & Jehovah-God affirms Himself. I needed my God. He came through. Nathaniel, when thou wast under the fig tree I saw thee. 20 years after my ex went in sin...I Met the Love of My Life. Honest. True. Noble. Sincere. Virtuous. We happiest days of my life. We fell in love, got engaged. She went to ICU after passing out shortly after we got engaged. Flown to Jefferson Memorial Hospital in Philly. Six long weeks in ICU I stood by her as best I could. The Jehovah-God took her. I told her I would put the ring on her finger before she is buried. I ask the LORD "why?" every day. But in my heart I know my Sovereign is benevolent & faithful to me. I'm trusting fully in Jesus as I walk through this life just like I trusted Him against that day. I know Whom I have believed....

Wow. This is powerful. When they got to the part of the song "Every people and tribe, every nation and tongue" I fell to my knees in awe. And when they got to the chorus "HE IS!!" Hallelujah! HE IS!! Watching these/you precious young people blesses my heart so much, yet there is still a heaviness. My own grown children have all gone astray. I blame myself. Two of them don't even know if I'm alive. I thank God that my oldest son at least gives me a little time. I'll be praying for all of you, that the fire that burns in your hearts and souls will be forever. It can be so easy to lose your close, personal touch with the Lord and before you know it the devil can get you to turn your back on your Precious Savior without you even knowing it.
