I think if people really dig this, they might also enjoy the music of Eberhard Weber (it's more solidly jazz rather than electronic in nature, but has some similar atmospheric qualities, and Eberhard too is a bassist)
@matthewmartinez35962 жыл бұрын
Totally. A lot of Eberhard Weber’s label mates on ECM are fantastic musicians

Here, not only are melodic contours known and appreciated by the Hindoos, but also an absolutely new harmonic material, which brings us prisms, clusters of chords, thick chimes, and garlands of garlands. What strikes first of all in this music is, on the one hand, the penetrating charm of harmonic aggregations and, on the other hand, the absolute clarity of intervals !

Imagine Steve Reich with Fred Frith as sound technician / producer with the odd appearance of Jon Hassel and a national romantic celtic orchestra as well as musicians from Harry Partch ensemble and a slight bit of Einstürzende Neubauten with Don Cherry or Miles Davis occasionally coming with opinions produced on ECM? Is that Jonas Reingold or Eberhard Weber on the bas? Was Michel Berckmans and Terry Riley involved? This is wicked! And where did suddenly Edgar Elgar, Enya, Andreas Vollenweider and Pat Metheny come from for a few bars? I recognize all the music at the same time it is just so far out I wonder what mushrooms I had for dinner... or the composer had! This is nauseously interesting... such an amalgamation of styles that even Alfred Schnittke would scratch his head. Yet there is a very clear red thread through all this... it is not haphazardly clipped together, but actually composed with thought. He might suffer from schizophrenia, but it is actually composed with a thought in mind and has a weird cohesion. I just stumbled over this and am very happy to have had this almost otherworldly musical bizarre twisted experience.
