No one else was looking to take him so I hate peoples saying we benefited from the F/s rule, we actually took a punt on player that wasn’t rated and got him at pick 77. Just great drafting

@@fully5733 every club knew he was going to us either way, we did benefit cos we got him with literally the last pick in the draft. In an open draft some1 might have taken him a few picks earlier

Well he was kicking cricket scores in the WAFL but they had Josh Kennedy and Darling in the senior side so they couldnt be moved, Waterman used to come in and play a hybrid wing / half forward role and he was always getting rotated on and of the ground so he never got a chance to settle in any position. Ironically , its probably helped his cardio running up and down those vast expanses of Optus ; ] Then Oscar came in who is a gun as well, to replace Kennedy and their was a worry Jake would never get a real crack in his favoured position to strut his stuff. Fortunately for Jake, the cards have fallen his way, he has taken his chance and even Ray Charles can see he is now he has to stay in the side. Eagles will be in pretty good shape forwards wise if Allen and Waterman can stay fit and play a lot of games together.
