Outstanding video Mr. Bill! Researching grapples and came across your Brush Crusher episode. I watched your other ones as well. I'm sold on this grapple because it saves $$ for other implements I plan on getting. Nothing wrong with spending wisely. Thanks a ton. 👍👍

Hello Jeff, I couldn’t agree more I love collecting as many implements as I can, While still buying quality that will get the job done. Once I got my property picked up in an order I now use my grapple a couple times a year, but never have guilt about it sitting in the shop not being used because the price is so attractive.

Good video and quite informative. I like that you showed us how much difference it makes to have the extra piece on the bottom to fill in the middle. Now... about the brush crusher. Those barbs on the fingers seem to be a bad idea. I noticed that you had trouble on nearly every dumping of brush. It appeared to be the problem with the lower arms wouldn't angle downward enough... they were too level and combined with the barbs the brush just didn't want to dislodge. That same thing seems to happen with most of the videos that are made on the Brush Crusher. That alone is a deal-breaker for me. Double deal-breaker is that I'd have to remove/replace several bolts in order to adjust the angle of those lower fingers depending if I wanted to scrap along the ground easily or be able to dump piles easily. It may save $600 because it doesn't need a third function hydraulics set up front but why save a few bucks and not be happy with this long term attachment? I'd be fighting that dumping problem for 20 years. Again though - you produced a very nice video. I just don't care for the Brush Crusher grapple. I just ordered a complete third function for my Kubota for $580 and it comes complete with ALL hoses and quick-couplers up on the loader front. It seems to take inexperienced DIY'rs anywhere for 1 1/2 hours to 2 1/2 hrs. to fully install it, hook up a from attachment (grapple, angling snow plow or whatever) and they're off and working.

Good luck CW, when Deere comes out with a factory add on third function, I may also jump ship to another grapple. Although, now that I'm caught up around here I only use a grapple 2-3 times a year and I've found the forks act just as well moving logs and downed trees. Thanks for sending me your well thought out comments. - Bill

Definitely you can see the difference . As we say in Ontario ( You be rocking now ) I found by keeping the teeth pointing down on grapples when coming in too brush piles is too use it like a rake like you did and compress first then grab it 👍 . Cleaning up with the critter ridder 😂 .

I think thats a good alternative if you dont want to spend money on a 3rd function but i think the cost is a wash. I did see the downside of not having a 3rd function standard grapple, when you could tilt and open enough to free the debris. Ptobably minor but a difference. Good vid. Thanks

I was really apprehensive about that grapple because the sides were not tied together so much so that I was thinking about building a set of teeth to fill in the center. I like this design a lot. I think I will go with this grapple.
@billburkhart4 жыл бұрын
Guns4Fun FreedomKeeper Merry Christmas and thanks for taking time to comment. The extra teeth that are now offered has made this a very efficient grapple for what I use it for. One last suggestion, be sure and load your brush crusher evenly, since adding the extra teeth I’ve gotten a lot more aggressive with the crusher picking up larger loads (concrete chunks and large oak logs) than I should have. After watching the video I made I was risking damage to the loader arms because I had a very heavy load on one side and not evenly spread out. For the price, it’s doing everything I want it to do.
@davidbauman47053 жыл бұрын
When you’re adding all that pressure on loader arms puts lot more pressure on bottom pins of quick attach , doesn’t open far enough to pickup large brush pile , can’t see expense to just pick up log

Quick question: Can you lay the BC4200 on the ground and curl it backwards toward the cab (like you do with a FEL to hold loaded material like loam), and then manually load the BC4200 with cut pieces of brush and logs? That would be a BIG plus for my use. We often collect saplings, brush, and fallen tree limbs and run them through a chipper for mulch. I would like to park the tractor with the BC4200 at my cut site, work the chain saw, and manually load a collection of shorter length items into the BC4200, clamp down with the upper teeth when the load is full, and head for the chipper. Thank you!!!

fcruabbly mmmmmmm let me check
@Tnapvrvideo4 жыл бұрын
That would be very much appreciated. It's not a deal breaker. I am sold on this BC4200. I think it is marvelous with the full compliment of teeth. It would just be easier and cleaner if I can load cut items into the awaiting teeth. If not, no biggie, I'll just create a nicely stacked pile and scoop it just as you showed in your videos with those brush piles on your property. We have been pleased to see you use the 1025R to handle a lot of tasks. It looks to be every bit as impressive as your larger tractor in a smaller format.

Any idea what the total grapple weight is now? Versus the loader capacity on a 1025R? Are you planning on remaining a two tractor family for long, Thanks Bill.

Thanks Bill. I appreciate the reply. I’m not crazy about adding a 3rd function to my nearly 14 year old 2305. I have the Artillian pallet forks and the Bucket Hoe, and some other Artillian do dads. On a couple of different projects last summer I found myself switching back and forth between the hoe and the forks several times in just a few days. Although I like the modular concept in theory the practical reality of moving that stuff is something else. I am intrigued by the stand alone simplicity of the brush crusher.

I've had this brush Crusher thru an entire weekend now and I'll say I was excited for this attachment but I'm not fully liking this attachment yet. I picked up alot of stuff including cedar trees and it does great. 1) the pins they send for attachment are weak to start with. One of them busted off. 2) where the loader meets the bottom plate. The pin holds the outside of each corner down but the right side of each corner comes up off of the loader feet. Very disappointed about this
@billburkhart3 жыл бұрын
Hi Brad Sorry to hear about the trouble your having. Call the factory and ask them the replace the broken part, if I understand correctly can you replace the pins yourself? I’m sorry I don’t understand the issues with the loader feet. - Bill
@bradb46203 жыл бұрын
Well when the loader quick connects go into the top at the back of the Crusher and then the bottom of the quick connect that has the pins connects at the bottom. You put the pins in. The you pick up brush and/or logs, trees etc. Well at the bottom part of the quick connect feet opposite side of each one of the pins, the foot comes up off of the Crusher a considerable bit

My observation is that I would lean towards the additional teeth on the bottom. It appeared to that the brush hung up less than when the additional upper teeth were included. Great video
@peterleveillee1321 Жыл бұрын
I had a BrushCrusher and a Frontier mechanical grapple, both broke my Quick Connect on my 220R loader within 1 day of use. The design puts way too much force on these points. Unlike a 3rd function grapple which does not need for the small hydraulic cylinder to be closed to scoop up a log, these kinds have to compress the logs to hold them., There is too much force from the 2 sets of cylinders on the loader. I now just use my forks to pick up logs.

Thanks for taking time to comment. I also use my forks when the load is such that forks will work. Merry Christmas-Bill
