Awesome video! Many of those were surprising to me. I can’t believe Japan didn’t get Star Tropics! It’s also interesting to me that Gumshoe was like a more interesting Flappy Bird 😝
@RewindArcade7 ай бұрын
Thanks man!! Yeah, I really would love to see an alternate reality where StarTropics did make it to Japan just to see if the series would have continued on. And yeah, Gumshoe was a very forward thinking game that I feel doesn't get enough credit for being so creative back then. Just like StarTropics, I'm curious if Nintendo would have given it more of a spotlight had it released in Japan.

Hey Chris, old viewer here …. and I DID like this video! Incredibly informative and entertaining as always, and I now need to somehow find & play that Arm Wrestling game … why wasn’t THAT on the NES? It looks way more fun than Urban Champion!
@RewindArcade7 ай бұрын
Thanks Rob, haha! And yeah, it's very surprising that Urban Champion got an NES port over Arm Wrestling considering how crappy UC is. I'm keeping my eye out for an Arm Wrestling cabinet at all the cons I'll be at this year since I really want to give one a play in person. Thanks for watching man!

Two non-domestic Nintendo games feature Nintendo Power's mascot, Nestor: To the Earth, and Nestor's Funky Bowling.

Yeah, I was considering covering Virtual Boy, DS, Wii, etc. in a later episode, but I didn’t include To the Earth since it was developed by a 3rd party studio. Still though, both are very interesting games. Have always wanted to try out NFB just because it seems like such an odd release.

I didn't know that Pokemon Puzzle league was a Pon game. Make that's so cool, but I'd of gladly traded that for the latter, it's a way cuter look! I'm about about to review a gundam game where it's localized version was exclusive to us for a long time. Great work here! This is a very unique vidoe as opposed to what you usually see!
@RewindArcade7 ай бұрын
Thanks man!! Yeah, I really am happy we got Panel de Pon on Nintendo Switch Online, but I’d like to see the series released in a more “official” capacity in the West than just a quick JP ROM dump. Very curious about this Gundam game you’re reviewing. I’ll keep an eye out for the video! I picked up Haro no Puyo Puyo on GBA a few months ago so I’m a sucker for weird Gundam spin-offs. 😅 Thanks for watching dude!

Yeah, I first learned about a lot of these too while researching for this. Poor Panel de Pon just needs a full on modern reboot in the West to make thing right. 😂

Aside from Star Tropics (The one I knew most about) I'm surprised these games actually didn't go over to the east.
@RewindArcade7 ай бұрын
Yeah, there are some very surprising games that never made it to Japan (or made it there way later).
@maximum.collecting7 ай бұрын
The Panel de Pon rabbit hole is deep. So deep, in fact, that the West got an exclusive Pokémon game…huh? Awesome work, as always, but wouldn’t this be the opposite of collecting Japanese games? Are you switching up on us??? 😂
@RewindArcade7 ай бұрын
Yeah man, the PdP series has such a strange relationship in the West, even in games like Smash Bros. Would make a cool video just on its own! I remember you buying the GC Puzzle Collection last year, and now I kind of want to pick up a copy myself, haha. And I generally keep things very Japanese focused on my channel so I felt like it would be cool to do something that went in the polar opposite direction for once. Thanks for watching man!

General feedback/my opinion here. The sound effects during transitions and animations make your videos impossible to watch for more than a minute or two.

Totally understandable. I have fun adding in the sound effects to help enhance my animations, but I know my video editing style certainly doesn't resonate with everyone. Not many people watch my videos these days so I mainly just try and have fun and do things my own way. I really appreciate the feedback though.

I know this type of videogames are kinda niche in the west, but will you ever make a retrospective on the Idolmaster series? It's one of Bamdai Namco's most important IPs and the characters made multiple appearances in games like Ace Combat, Tales Of and Katamari Damacy
