Every time I take money out from the ATM, it is always brand new notes. Never used notes like in the good old days. Funny that.

You got it the other ways around. The wealth and particularly the banks holds the right to collect on loans and mortgages as ‘assets’. While certainly inflation will cause the debt to devalue but it favours debtors, and if the entire country is in debt but the wealthy also collects debt, ergo it benefits those who exclusively have debt more than those who both owe and collect.
