It's said in the movie that large chunks of the loyalist states didn't side with the President, the ones that did were hardcore loyal to the state and just the state for "reasons" that the movie didn't explain besides fanatism which is why you can see them outclassed by the people who put their own interests or family or ideals about what the country has to be above the state, so the F-22s are most likely from some non-loyalist airbase in one of those loyalist states that didn't side with the Gov. As you can see, the movie implies that once the ball started rolling against him, everyone either switched sides or went from neutral to actively rebellious for again, "reasons" that are not fully explained because the movie is about journalism. And it makes sense. If you look at faction maps from some of the middle east you will see states supporting X cause but they are filled to the brim with holes that do not support that cause, and the same happens with the unallied states, they have spots that support X order they are against. And then you get multicolored spots here and there which are rebels fighting against rebels and other rebels and the state and so on because of conflicts of interest and so on. And the maps end up looking like waves every few months due to how drastically they can change.
@Redneck23933 ай бұрын
@@Hyperion21x According to movie lore, large numbers of the military changed sides, so maybe the 1st Air Cav or part of it decided to defect. As for overall strength, both states have a combined land force of over 36,000 personnel, and both states do have heavy equipment like Abrams tanks and Apache choppers. And that's without mentioning the numbers of defecting US military units like (Presumably) the 1st Air Cav or all of the volunteers joining the WF. I imagine also that other states not in the WF but sympathetic to their cause would send material aid and maybe some volunteers of their own as well.

That's kind of the point too. Just like in other civil war conflicts, sometimes it becomes real difficult to notice who's with who because they use the same fitting gear. In places like the U.S. it would be extremely messy due to the surplus of the same type of gear, cheap recreations, airsoft props, etc, in a war you repurpose anything and everything. Crossfire would be insane and also people getting shot due to the confusion of whether they are armed or not because it might look like a real gun or something while they are just using toys or trying to move away their military nerd stuff that doesn't work. Also the unironical "Rambos" or "Wannabe Rambos" trying to save the day or be the heroes even if their gun is pure airsoft or just non-lethal ammo. Insanity.

This caused many states to secede from the president and form their own groups and alliances. The groups consisted of - the western forces (Texas and California) - the Florida alliance (most of the southern states) The new peoples army (most of the north western states) Those who were loyal to the president were the loyalists Fun fact: the western forces consisted of us military units who rebelled against the president, one of those units were the 1st cavalry division

Is that really that unrealistic? The paint job point is kinda silly since the rebel forces are from the west, and probably spent the first half of the war fighting in the very sandy American southwest to link up their states. After that, it makes sense that wider spread repainting would be difficult for a rebel military after many years of destructive war. Hell the U.S. military with all its logistical might was unable to supply its soldiers with the proper desert camouflage for desert storm with 6 months preparation. In comparison the western forces had more immediate issues and less logistical capacity

Civil War is basically Syria. In the movie you got the president, you got Western Forces fighting against the president, you got the Florida Alliance who are fundamentalist Christians, and then you got the commies on the Northern states based out of Portland.
@ColonelPeppers3 ай бұрын
They made the Western Forces OP. They had APC's, tanks, choppers, Raptors, literally everything. While the Loyalists had nothing from the looks of it, even though there were several armor depots in the Loyalist states, Virginia alone has four depots. Its like they made them weak on purpose.
@sergiohelgueramartinez74793 ай бұрын
A) The fact that a state might be shown as loyalist may not mean anything, modern civil wars are a lot messier than "this state is in this faction so everyone and everything in that state joins that faction". Just look at stuff like maps of the Syrian or Lybian civil wars. B) You are ignoring the fact that the movie's point isn't "This is what we think a real second civil war would look like" , the movie's point is: "We are going to put what you tend to see in civil wars out there in a USA context so American audiences will be shocked into caring about it."
