Such a perfect place to talk about fertility and croucas! Sitting under a tree, next to the lake shore, with a bridge over the waters, and a tiny rowboat framed by mountainous croucas in the sky. This is a reach, maybe, but even the umbrellas could have or be croucas, since they look like witchs’ hats. Well done. When I was little, my mom used to bounce me on her knee and sing, “Mamma’s lilla kråka”… I love your channel, thank you for all you do 🙏🏻

17:30 Even in brazilian folklore we have a female creature named Cuca. Second the lore, it's a witch that inhabit the forest and protect it. I'm not really sure about the link between the terms originated from iberian folklore and the brazilian one but, of course, they have the same spelling, pronunciation and the semantic occurrence since both terms talks about the fantastic. Thanks for the content. It will be useful in my classes

The cuca is a disfigured cutout from the Iberian folklore of Coca. Cuca was a character created by Brazilian writer Monteiro Loubato, who was inspired by the folkloric figure of Coca.
@AndreyPRocha2 жыл бұрын
It is the same origin, the Cuca comes from the Iberian Peninsula and its desfiguration, as said by Mr. Braga above, was popularized by Monteiro Lobato. I'd just correct pointing that it was not created by Lobato, but it was present possibly since colonization in the form of lullabies - some of them very well preserved in some regions like the Northeastern part of Brazil.

Finally I was able to watch this video!!! First of all, it's quite interesting to hear about traditions different from the more mainstream ones, so obrigada!! And now a small thought, maybe stupid or wrong, that I had while hearing you talking about "coco". In Rome one of the words you use to designate the head is "coccia". I had always thought that it was just a short for "capoccia" (word for head, in Italian "capo"), but now I have some doubts...might have been some common root? Or my first idea, the one about the shortening of the word (romans are lazy while speaking), is the right one? Might be worth some research!

Through a DNA analysis, I've discovered that I have ancestors from the Iberian Peninsula, which I suspected, and now have proof. Thank you Arith! I was completely ignorant of pre-xtian practices there. When my most beloved cat went to Spirit, I took his carefully Egyptian styled remain to a mountain, and built a cairn over them. His grave goods were simple: a can of Fancy Feast, and his Yule cap, with flower petals. His gauze wrappings hid his jewels and silver pentagram. It was early February. A great mist lay over the ancient volcano as I searched for the perfect place. I stopped my car to think. The mist parted momentarily, and that's when I saw him; the biggest coyote imaginable, standing there, regarding me. He whispered, "If you bury him, I will dig him up.". I thanked him, and shortly found the perfect spot. Coyote made it clear what must be done, but so did the mountain. The cairn was quite large, as were the boulders strewn about the area. Sad, but amazing day to say good bye to my best friend. From CA. 🇺🇸

I think that it all boils down to how each people, person, egregores, cultures, religions etc interpret and mainly manifest their particular and collective reality dogmatized in rites, mythology, symbols etc. caring in regional, temporal, vibrational, multidimensional, planetary, universal, multiuniversal and without definitions beyond the cognizable of infinity. Nobody's right or shouted: everything in the whole is timeless, indefinable, unpronounceable and interconnected through the inner self and each other. Just insights.... Sorry for the outburst. There are inferior, and disgusting cultures. The west is superior to cultures that accept cannibalism; because that can cause a serious prion disease. The superior culture is the one that doesn’t eat people for even the Darwinian evolutionary reasons. Feed cow to cow; mad cow. This head thing of the Iberian peninsula reminds me of Aztec culture some for some reason. I can’t place it exactly.
