This game looks like a board game variant of Red Dead Redemption. I like it! 👍

@17:34: Rahdo's yellow mark stays on the "quest" even though he didn't score a Marshall point, even after the example is rewinded... until 19:26.

Great review Rahdo! I love your excitement. You and your reviews are a major reason I got into our hobby. Thank you for what you do. Keep making videos!

As per usual a fun runthrough Richard, thanks!

I miss this way you used to film play throughs. I like how the camera moves around the board from your point of view, rather than the overhead shot you now use. If you ever feel like mixing it up, it would be welcomed. :) Looks like a fun game. I noticed it on kickstarter but couldn't really get a feel for it. I'm not usually drawn to western themes or games that incorporate poker. I thought it was heavy on that action, but here you can see there is a nice variety of actions you can take. Your video is very helpful. Thanks!

i agree there's a certain energy that's lost with the static cameras, but honestly, i had to make the change because it was SOOO much more mentally taxing being my own cameraman while also filming, and i was just getting burned out! :(

Did the man in black cross the desert and the gunslinger follow?

it is funny, because it is exactly why I think I am going to buy this game! There's the man in black and I want to play as Roland Deschain

If you have the itch to play a game very similar to this while we're all waiting for Western Legends to arrive, then I suggest "Spurs: A Tale in the Old West". It's a board game for 2-5 players that is similar to Western Legends in MANY ways. You can view info about it here (BTW, although this site says "3-5" players, the designer has published a 2 player variant): www.boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/149097/spurs-tale-old-west Whoops... spoke too soon... I didn't see the earlier comment further below, same subject (Spurs)

@ 4:51: If you are dealt 4 secret goals at the beginning of the game and then lose one randomly, why not just deal 3 to each player instead?
@bogdanhobinca2907 жыл бұрын
If I understood correctly, I don't think you are dealt 4 secret goals. I think each character has a deck of 4 cards, out of which you lose one (or if you prefer, are dealt 3). So basically there isn't a common deck of secret goals, out of which you get 4, then lose one. Instead, your character has a deck of its own, consisting of 4 secret goals, out of which you get 3.

This games looks like a really well done re-theme + streamlining of Merchants & Marauders

merchants and marauders makes more sense to me. It has an overall better look/style to it too.

Great runthrough again Richard. Love you scattiness when playing games. Haha. However, when you were playing poker, the house had a 5 card run with 4,5,6,7,8 of a different suit and you had a flush with all 5 diamond cards with king being the highest diamond so that beats the run and you didn't need to cheat, or did you just want to cheat? 😉
@kateshingles16867 жыл бұрын
Mark Williamson the house didn’t have a 6 (so no five card run) and if he went for the royal flush he would’ve had to use all 3 cards in his hand :)
@bgm-19617 жыл бұрын
It was impossible for Jen to have a flush. That 8 of hearts from the flop is one of the five cards that makes up Jen's hand.

great video. Quick question, if all of the players are involved in a hand of cards, who chooses the houses cards?
@rahdo7 жыл бұрын
in that case, the house doesn't play (though it does still provide the $50 to the pot)

WTH? I came here to refresh my memory after not playing this for the past 1 1/2 pandemic years. I bought mine retail and there is NO Geronimo or Crazy Horse!!! Instead there is Y.B. Rowdy and Bloody Knife = very less Legendary. Bloody Knife is exactly the same as your Geronimo so it’s sad they switched them out. Maybe they were KS inclusive? There were also some rule changes made that were shown here.

Just curious, don't you draw 2 more cards after the flop and pick the best 5? That would be closer to Texas Hold'Em.
@rahdo7 жыл бұрын
well, the thing is, in this game it's not at all uncommon that you'll start the round of poker holding 4 or 5 cards in your hand, so effectively you get all your cards before the flop
@Hahahahaaahaahaa7 жыл бұрын
I like multiple uses for cards, but theme wise it's a bit odd that you get poker cards that play actual poker, ....or you win gunfights with, ...or make you a marshal.

I am saying the BGG page offers insight, as does the KS page--not a specific thread.
What could be the reason to draw 1 card + $10 instead of 2 cards + $20?

During poker games only the flop comes out? No turn and river?
@rahdo7 жыл бұрын
correct, because in this game, generally start with a much bigger hand (4 or 5 cards) which emulates the extras

Hi Rahdo. I really appreciate your runthroughs, but it would be so much easier to watch your videos if you could try to not repeat yourself so much. If you say something once, that is plenty for me! I'm paying attention, and can always rewind if I miss something.
@viktorvasilev11867 жыл бұрын
That's the way Rahdo's mind works while he is filming, man - he is constantly all over the place, firing words left and right, proposing and rejecting strategies in an instant. I can suggest to pay attention just to the final result of the actions, if you are annoyed from all the thinking process and talking :)
@amorbavian7 жыл бұрын
Damon Asher one of the reasons I really can't watch his videos. I value his opinion but his filming and runthrough is just all over the place.

My thoughts exactly, love your work Rahdo but many times im like "ok you've mentioned that already make a decision please"
@unimatrix20a6 жыл бұрын
@@amorbavian I gotta say this is one of the reasons i love his videos. It is giving so much more to watch this thinking process. It lets you understand the strategic struggles you will be faced with when doing a particular game. This goes far beyond just explaning the rules and makes it valuable for me. For sure, this wont be everyones style which is totally fine. But for me it gives me extra content that I do not want to miss.
