Western Maryland 734: Winter Photo Freight Jan 2001

With the exciting restoration announcement of Western Maryland Scenic steam locomotive #734, I dug thru the archives and found this great video of 734 on a winter photo freight back in January 2001. Sponsored by Carl Franz, the locomotive is seen at many of the famous locations along the former Western Maryland right-of-way. With lots of stack talk, wheel slip, and whistle blasting, 734 has definitely earned her nickname of "Mountain Thunder". Special thanks to Mark Phillips, who shot this film, and gifted it to me when I was younger.
