Western Mediterranean Cruise La Caruna and Palma de Mallorca

We took a half term holiday cruise with my daughter and our grand children on board P&O Arvia.
This was a 2 week cruise sailing from Southampton in the UK. After setting sail we spent a sea day crossing the notorious Bay of Biscay. It wasnt the best of crossings, but then again, we have had MUCH worse.
Our first port of call was La Coruña also known as A Coruña depending on your version of Spanish. Here we did our own walking tour of the city and took in a cafe and some shopping before returning to the Ship, where the grand children had a go on the Altitude Skywalk aerial ropeway. They thouroughly enjoyed it.
After La Coruña we hadf two days at sea, cruising the length of portugal, through the Straits of Gibralter and then on to Palma de Mallorca. at the end of the first sea day we had our celebration night which allowed the girls to get dolled up and show off their finery. Me? I just wore a 3 piece suit of course.
Eventually we arrived in Palma where we took an excursion to the Caves of Drach or Cuevas del Drach, which was quite something and brought back some great childhood memories. The Music and light show on the sub terranean lake was exactly as I remember.
After the caves we visited Monte Cristo de Mallorca for a quick stop before visiting a pearl factory on the way back to the ship.
