Another update from WNC: Hearts with Hands is welcoming volunteers, 850 Warren Wilson Rd, Swannanoa, NC. They have a massive warehouse and can handle donations … no clothes, please … food, water, diapers, formula, wipes, paper goods. They are also cooking and feeding over 1200 responders distributed by volunteers. You can drive in from Warren Wilson Rd. The bridge coming in from Bee Tree is out. We parked and walked in over the bridge. Other groups wanting to send donations can come here. They have space and forklifts. Choppers can land. NO CLOTHES. ❤

It's so sad to see all the destruction that the storm created. But it's also great to see all the people coming together to help everyone that was affected by the storms also.

Thank you for doing this. Not many people k ow how bad it really was until you see it first hand. I was up there helping out a couple of weekends ago in the fletcher area and the devastation was horrible. I also got see som of the damage along the french braod river north of Asheville and everything was completely gone. But like you said the best part is how the community came together. It does not matter what your background is, if you needes help, the community jumped in to do it.

@collegefootballguy4537 Thank you so much for helping. We drove through Fletcher. It appeared to have gotten much better. We decided to stay away from Asheville because of all the work that still needs to be done.

Thank you so much for letting us know what's really happening and how things are going. There are a few blogs that people are using negatively and I don't listen to them but unfortunately some do. I like videos like yours better than news. They're too formal and don't always do as good a job. Thank you again and God of heaven and earth bless and comfort you all from here on out. Praise God from Whom all blessings flow! AMEN

Thanks guys. I’m from Pa and have been watching since day one. I was part of a group that sent donations about a week ago. It is sad and heartbreaking to see devastation like this in a mountain region. Bless you all.

That's because hurricanes do not cross mountain ranges. Every climatologist and meteorologist got a big wake up call from this one. This, honestly, is a WORLD EVENT. IF it ever happened before, it would be before recorded history. This CHANGED river courses!

@jbar74 It was definitely eye-opening. Everyone we met there was tough, positive, upbeat, and motivated. Amazing Carolinians.

I watched a video from a l NC local station on those shops, just yesterday. I wish I could remember the station for you. The folks were digging out and swamping up the mud, but they are upbeat and determined to begin again.

I just left comment and checked out your previous vids which is just my interests. It would be helpful to have a voice of reason in every affected community letting people know what they can do and what not to donate and where to make donations and how to reach them. I saw one creator who had a truck load of new clothing, coats etc that traveled all over until the found a place that could take them. Sometimes well meaning people create more of a problem than if they had better guidance on what is needed at what point in time.

@lorihamlin3604 It was definitely hard to find locations to help donate. I could only, at this point, was to share links. I just wish I could help more and provide the necessary equipment.

Just wondering where the volunteers are staying in this area? I live in Virginia and want to help. I have donated money but interested in maybe doing something hands on. I don't want to add to the problems there by being another mouth to feed etc.

hoping that the cold weather the past couple days doesn't cause any rock/land slides being the ground still being so wet and freezing..most don't realize just how bad things can get with the cold weather not just for those there but also the land. stay safe out there and hopefully the area will recover in time i hope. just insane and sad that the mainstream media doesn't and won't talk much at all about the status in the region. Not to mention lying about just how grave of a situation it really was and still is. Pitiful that it's content creators, locals, and volunteers that are getting out the information and showing what's really going on there when it should also be the main media as well which is why I stopped trusting and even watching it these days.

The cold weather will definitely not help.

The LOCAL media in NC is reporting on this extensively. I've watched a dozen videos of the local media talking to people, aid workers. government officials etc. I advise you watch those and learn what you need/want to know.
@Ridingon3TN27 күн бұрын
@@elainedaprano9130 yeah local media 3hrs or closer to the area out past that nothing really being said hence main stream media like nationally but then again they dont want people to know just how bad it actually is there still. They rather show the flooding thats oddly going on in france atm instead of at least making sure people across the country realize that the region is permanently changed from the damaged caused there. Kinda like how thry mentioned thr flooding up in the South Dakota,Iowa,Nebraska area for a day or two and then ok notbing more to see here when there was areas in that region changed as well due to thr flooding. The national media sucks when it comes to reporting major issues or even updates from those issues more than just a couple days. I mean even florida got a couple days then poof nothing to no surprise even though some areas there were changed from milton and hele. So yeah quite sure locally nees channels are saying some things but they are also quite sure only allowed to say and show certain things that the gov will
