Amazing - a thin silk thread for a crankcase gasket.

Plus a gasket sealer. Works surprisingly well. Especially when you consider that engine crankcases are vertically split and not horizontally split.

@@daytonasixty-eight1354 - that's right. a very precise way of doing it and fail-proof. I would venture a guess that this company has NEVER seen anything come back wrong or had an in-flight failure due to their fault. You can just tell that the process they go through is infallible. Bravo to the owners of this company for such an incredible quality control.

@@harpoon_bakery162 eh...never is a strong statement. I’m an A&P and insurance claims investigator. ALL shops get tagged with a claim/lawsuit at some point. Some valid, some not, some who the hell knows. But no shop is full proof.

@@jdotsalter910 wow, you must be an engineer (background), i have a ton of questions i could ask being so curious....but I'll spare you, lol. It seems like being in that business (as a shop owner) would carry some MAJOR liabilities.... It just seems like this particular shop is SO detailed and careful that they mitigate everything that could go wrong. I'm sure someone messes up from time to time, but how hard is it to prove? I would think it would be a real tough thing.

What type of thread is used to creat the seal for the engine case? Is it better then RTV? I wonder how well it would work in an automotive application.

bruce tec yes they use different sealant compounds depending upon the engine make and model
