If you’ve been wanting one of these guitars but don’t want any headache related with dealing with vintage instruments as some play great some are just plain terrible and will require $$$ to restore, my suggestion is you should look at Godin 5th Avenue Kingpin. They look almost identical but much more affordable with excellent build quality and good engineering associated with modern instruments. They sound fabulous too 👍 but again one cannot deny the charm and characters of a well looked after vintage guitar!

I found the bit at 15 minutes in a different pattern and have enjoyed it for thirty years. It's amazing how I missed the one you demonstrated. More ways to skin a cat... rhnx

I really appreciate your teaching Brian. I think you mis-spoke when you say that F# is the 2 chord.... I'm guessing you meant it's the second chord of the progression. It's actually the 6 chord. thanks again.

What in the hell are those downvotes? If you’re so great, make a teaching video and give it away for free haters.

Brian this sounds like Steve Wariner, CGP. I wish you had made one more backtrack going a little slower. I’m getting it though....thanks so much. I became a Premium member!
@activemelody5 жыл бұрын
Welcome Valerie - glad to have you as a Premium Member :) On this lesson, I do have 2 versions of the jam track, one played at the tempo that I played, and then one played slower. Also, you can always download the MP3 file and then play it using VLC player (free software) which allows you to play it at whatever tempo you want.

I'm digging this lesson, especially on this Gibson 125. Are you using electric guitar strings and do you play this guitar through a regular electric guitar amp as opposed to an acoustic guitar amp? Thanks Brian. You're not only a great player, but a great teacher as well! Peace

OMG. 13’s !!! More like this Great lesson
@VLove-CFII5 жыл бұрын
userfixit What is 13’s?
@userfixit5 жыл бұрын
Valerie. It is the thickness of the thinnest string. Most players use 10’s or 9’s. That would be 10 thousandths or 9 thousands. The thinist string defines how large the other 5 strings are also 13’s are very thick!

Forgive me if I am wrong, but wouldn't the F#m (which Brian is playing here as major) be the 6 (vi) chord in the key of A? Not the 2 as he says a couple of times. Bm (which is played here as B7) would be the 2 (ii). I'm guessing there is some Jazz substitution reason for the minor to major changes, but calling the F# the 2 chord in A was confusing to me. Anyone? (Ref. Premiere Guitar's Western Swing 101 lesson).

This lesson is kind of hokey. I’ll pass. Sorry Brian.
@moeb4345 жыл бұрын
3 Card Monty It seems a little hokey, but just blend more minor notes into those scales, or, use less notes, let them sustain more. The space will make it more blusey.
