Man what a fantastic source of information! I signed up for the major scale course as a refresher and am loving it. Wish i had you as a teacher 45 years ago when i first started!! My teacher just said do this. I didnt know scales were movable for the frst 7 to 8 months. I thought each note had its own scale so i didnt progress much at all. Loving it!!

Always hope to take away one thing from any lesson and here I got the idea to look at scales as arpeggios with passing notes. So the 1, 3, 5 notes are the resolve while the other notes or noises are the tension. Amazingly useful for me in terms of phrasing and constructing lines. Thank you Jason! Massive fan following your lessons on my Les Paul Special.

I just stumbled on your channel today. Watched a couple of videos so far. Good stuff. I have a big smile because of your comments on scales! I remember back in the 80s reading an article by Joe Pass which he explained it similarly. That is the real key to making music: think about the chords not the scales.

Another absolutely outstanding lesson Jason. I've been watching instructional videos for years and why you've just recently shown up in my feed is a mystery to me. Checking out your channel I see you've been doing this for a long time so I've been missing out. Not anymore. Hands down the best on the net

I really enjoyed listening to your inspired playing and you explained so many things I had not understood before. Although I was reaching above my level watching this, at some point I may be able to play somewhere close to this. Thanks again!

@@JasonLoughlinMusic excuse my ignorance. I did order it. Tbh you have taken me into a lot of new territories including this. I am more of a jazz-blues player but the country and rockabilly styles are so instructive. I have really gotten a lot out of your master classes on country guitar. And love your work on true fire.

Love the sounds and melodies you create Jason. You make all those genres sound so distinct but still using the same chord shapes and techniques. Really enjoyed watching this and trying to play along. Working through a few of your truefire courses also now and really enjoying those as well. Thanks for sharing this!

Great lesson, Thanks! Scales did not get me where I wanted to go, CAGED and arpeggios are. Sometimes I think music book publishers make things more complicated than they need to be.

Loved this video and the cool ease swapping beween genres and styles and some great lines, I'm curious Jason how did you get started playing and learn the theory you demonstrate and comment on here? Loved the comment: Scales are just arpeggios plus some passing tones. :) I'm guessing pro musical parent/s, started early or am i miles off? I am 70 years, just getting deeper into theory and no time to waste studying unecessary stuff. Your comments were very helpful, thanks.
