Love your maintenance tips. Is there a tip you could give to easily change the fuel filter on a John Deere E150 mower? It’s in a terrible location to be able to get the clip in place on the bottom hose to the filter. I just changed the oil filter, plugs, and the air filter, but I’m waiting to do the fuel filter because of the location. The filter you changed in this filter seems a bit difficult pulling the hoses off, but on the E150 it’s a lot more difficult because of the location. Thanks for any help you can give.
@WesternEquipment2 жыл бұрын
This is a tough one. Some times you have to get crafty and get more clamps or sets of pliers involved to hold the hose in position to move the hose clamps. I wish there was a simple quick answer but this is just a tough one. Thanks for watching!

@@WesternEquipment One thing I did figure out is the little panel by the filter can be loosened and turned so it’s easier to get at the filter but those little clips are really snug and hard to get back over the filter. Thanks for your response. I know your busy so taking the time for my question is appreciated.

Thanks for the video, it helped me out this morning big time! Next...is there a way to reset the service light? I read elsewhere to "Turn the ignition key to the "Run" position, but do not start the engine. Leave the key in this position for two hours, then turn the ignition key to the "Stop" position and remove the key. The service timer will reset and come on when the next service interval is reached." Would that be a drain on the battery?
@WesternEquipment3 жыл бұрын
The service light will reset itself. It will always flash at the intervals just as a reminder to check your service interval chart to see what you need to service. Then after service is done and you use your mower for an hour or so the light will reset. Good question and thanks for watching!

I read that the pre-filter to the air filter should be oiled. What do you think?
@WesternEquipment5 ай бұрын
Sometimes people do this to help trap more dust particles. In my opinion it makes more mess than what it is really worth. It definitely won't hurt anything if you wanted to oil it but you don't have to.

Hey Brent. I have a JD E110 mower and the belt is very loose. When engaging the blades, it'll throw the belt. I can't figure out how to adjust the tensioner because the bracket is factory welded. Therefore, it doesn't have the 2 bolts that most mowers have to adjust it. Any suggestions ?
@WesternEquipment3 жыл бұрын
There is actually a product improvement kit to fix this issue but I believe it has to be taken to a local dealer to get the kit. If your local dealer can not get the part let me know and I’ll see what I can do!

Just some all around great videos Brent and very well explained.I have a another question for you,what kind of gas do recommend for the S110.Regular 87 or High test 89/90 gas.Thanks.

Regular is fine. If you go with the higher octane I just wouldn’t run it all the time. And thanks for the compliments!

Warm oil drains faster. Warm oil filters come off easier. Short pieces of fuel line on needle-nose vice grips works best for shutting off fuel. Always used compressed air to blow out around the spark plug before removing it. Be very very careful when handling spark plugs a dropped spark plug is a broken spark plug.
@WesternEquipment Жыл бұрын
All good tips! Thanks for that. Is there anything else you would add?
