Thank you for the videos Brent, great content to help Deere lawn equipment owners maintain their investment. I wonder if John Deere realizes the benefit the company as a whole gets from dealers like you producing quality content like this? I wish my dealer here on the Delmarva Peninsula (I live on the Eastern Shore...that's the eastern shore of the Chesapeake Bay) was a little more proactive in this regard. Honestly I don't think most businesses realize the value of this type of customer service centric marketing. Keep up the great work! I noticed a couple of folks pointing out that you put the oil filter on w/ a wrench...yes on most applications hand tight is the most you want but these things vibrate a LOT and I can see how a little extra torque might be warranted. These things are easy to get a filter wrench on (unlike many cars) so I don't see the harm in snugging it up a bit as long as you don't crush the filter. My only other suggestion would be warming up the oil first to help the draining process but you are absolutely correct that a hot exhaust is something to be concerned with when changing that spark plug. Thanks again!

I have a question, do I need to pre fill the oil filter before I install it because I’m worried about the engine dry starting and damaging the engine
@WesternEquipment2 жыл бұрын
You do not have to but some people do prefer to do this. it is hard to do on these engines that the filter is sideways.

Is there any issues that can arise for having air in the fuel line or am I over thinking this? I have zero mechanic skill.

Very rarely because that air will escape from the fuel line as soon as the filter is reinstalled and the fuel pump kicks on. Good question and thanks for watching!

How do you replace fuel pump mine is just like yours has those plastic caps

Those should be just plastic retainer clips that you can work out with a flat head screwdriver. They can sometimes be brittle and need to be replaced once they are removed. I hope this helps and thanks for watching!

can you explain the difference between lg271 vs lg266? why does california models show as lg271? What part is different?
@WesternEquipment3 жыл бұрын
From what I can tell the parts are exactly the same. California has more strict rules on air pollution so the California version may have a slightly better air filter but other than that I see no difference. Thanks for watching!
@TheBinaryWolf4 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the info. Hopefully you might also be knowledgeable about the bagger system for this tractor. Do the blades need to be run at full speed and the tractor driven slowly to get the grass into the bags, like the manual instructs? And does the mower deck need to be tilted up at the back? I think my bagger system is installed properly, with the high lift blades; but hardly any grass gets tossed into the bags. I cut the grass grass only when dry and when it's not too long.
@WesternEquipment4 жыл бұрын
So going slower with the blades at full speed is the best way. This allows the deck to create more suction and give it time to move the grass to the bags. And yes, you want 1/8" to 1/4" difference in height from the front to back of your deck with the back being higher. This eliminates double cutting of your grass. You may also want to check your chute tube from time to time to make sure it isn't clogged. Thanks for watching!
@TheBinaryWolf4 жыл бұрын
@@WesternEquipment On mine, the bottom of the mower deck housing at the front is 2 inches above the ground and 2-5/8" at the back; so the tilt is 5/8", which is greater than the 1/4" recommended by the authorized dealer (who wants to charge me $75 to "take a look"). Maybe the belt on mine is too loose. But then on my E100, the adjustment bracket is welded down, not secured with two bolts as shown in the manual. How loose is the belt on your machine when the 'engage blade' lever is pushed forward?
@TheBinaryWolf4 жыл бұрын

@WesternEquipment Жыл бұрын
Some of the L100's do not have an oil filter. You simply just have to change the oil and replace with new. Briggs and stratton had a run where they produced these smaller engines without a filter.
