A trick I learned a few years ago that has helped me numerous times with pins that won’t take grease, adapt a hand pump porta-power into the 1/8” pipe thread. The oil from the porta-power will clear out the stuck pin easier than grease. Re-install grease fitting and most times the issue is resolved!

Hey Warren, you probably know this but they make larger air hammers. When we had things that wouldn’t come out on the F4, we would get the 9x out. That would usually do the trick. If it didn’t then we called the machine shop and went on to another job. Your a great expert journeyman mechanic. Thanks for sharing your videos.

hey warren the best investment i bought last year was a Milwaukee m18 grease gun with a clip on end it makes greasing equipment a lot more enjoyable you can run 10 tubes of grease with one charge with the m18 5 battery.

Those are the clients a guy likes to do work for, the ones who know to call well in advance of something becoming a "big bill" to fix. Your right (as usual Warren) guy who look after their gear, make money and have no problem making sure they can keep making money by spending the time to keep their equipment maintained. Those pins can be a pleasure or a complete chore to fix when they start being grease "non-compliant". I had a wheel lift on a wrecker (one of several I had to look after for a fleet), it had a main pin on the wheel lift that just would not come out no matter what we did. I had to fabricate a mini hydraulic press with a 10 ton port-a-power to finally press it out (worked like a hot damn).. I just don't understand why grease is an issue for some guys, it's like you can ask them to do anything else with no issue, but geez grease the truck and that's a big problem (mind you they are not the ones paying the service bill, so that says a lot). Thanks for dragging us along and again congratulations on the 100K subscribers! I see you got a mag mount for the camera again (thanks for that, was getting a bit sea sick there...lol). Cheer Warren, Stay Safe & Thank You again!

You need to carry one of those hand held butane torches and melt that old grease out. Lot of time pull the grease fitting out, put some heat in, replace fitting and fill with grease. New grease pushes out the old mush.

Thanks Warren, Save those old screwdrivers in a box/bucket, shape the ends into flat and sharp ends, then heat it to bend into a 45 or 90 degree angle (quench in oil) and have some custom tools instead of buying more. Use for cleaning grooves, pulling hoses, grabbing o-rings etc. Consider it shop recycling.

The older CATS were Great Machines. All this new stuff is JUNK...Ive been operating sense I was 16 yrs old. And Im 57 now. And I would much rather run an older one. The one new one I like is the John Deeres 850 K LGP. Before The DEF. Systems. Though I have to say in my experiences around the DEF systems. The John Deeres, and kobelcos, they have more figured out then the CATS do. Thats just my opinion. Great job on the pin. I hate it when the pins dont take grease. I grease my own machines that I operate that way I know whats going on with them. Great Video Warren...

I bought one of those grease zerk injector tool things. I don’t know what it’s called. Fill it with penetrating oil, put it on the zerk that won’t take grease and smack it with the Tonya Harding. It injects the penetrating oil into the fitting and loosens it up.

Ive used the air grease guns and they just do not produce the pressure an old manual hand pump gun will ,with the long handle , and using the grease fitting hose ends that are larger an grip better than the ends that come on the hand guns helps also , the ends Im talking about you could screw the top of the end off , change ends with the gripping jaws and it was rebuilt , new jaw ends . A drill bit cleans spring shackle pins out the best , doesnt take them long to plug completely tight .

3/27/22; Another great...but kinda easy..video fixin a 'bowel congestion' on that CatD8N rear hydraulic ripper grease zerk stoppage, left side. Last time it was right side, same story. Great you figured out issue, best way to get (giant) roll pin out of casting to see [old?] grease had ...co-agulated? , solidified...in the flow channel & blocked new grease from flowing into its grease lube passage. So what type of grease was customer using which solidifies over x period of time? Did someone substitute an inferior brand of grease earlier which does not have the longevity, temperature, heat range to be effective? Can you mention what grease you recommend, use in your tractor, truck & now, that big fork lift you have? Also, hey, where was the scenic camera shots of that landscape?? Ya know, we armchair YT viewers like to see the beautiful farming pasture you see. So yup, show us some mud, miles & miles of good 'Ole farming soil !👍👍👍🧑‍🔧😊
