It will be interesting to see the final production model once it hits some of the dealers. Overall class B sales seems to have remained relatively strong when compared to much of the rest of the RV market, but there seem to be a number of models that offer some similar features. Nice to have choices!

It looks great and I assume the Dodge Ram is reliable and easy to service in BC.

So far our Promaster has been (with a few quirks) and it wasn’t difficult to find a RAM dealer to service (generally if they sell vans they can service a class b). There was the time when the Ram dealer called sounding surprised to say they found a second alternator in our van (the underhood generator). 🚐

@@hikenrv OH I forgot your current Roadtrek is a Promaster! Our "Westfailia" is a Eurovan so it's a VW and it's a 1994 with minimal issues, considering its age. However, we did find out that it's getting more difficult to service due to some parts are becoming obsolete. Too bad we sat inside yesterday since there was a healthy discussion about VWs and you could have joined in with Promaster stories!

@@shawnahansen8597could have been fun! We love Westfalia’s btw, but yes as vehicles age it gets tougher to service. Our Promaster is still relatively new of course, but so far so good!

Do yourself a big favor never buy vw coming from a red seal auto technician
@hikenrv6 ай бұрын
Appreciate the advice! Updated: Likely very little from VW here, Westfalia is a brand itself and this is more of a concept drawn from existing Westfalia Euro vans using a Fiat ((Promaster) chassis and some of what exists in the NA market.

@@hikenrv IDK, years ago there was a VW camper, maybe winnebago mix ? It had 250K miles on it and it was like 25 years old and still running. Looked pretty good, but that's ALOT of miles. They were asking like 20K for it at the dealership, and it was original engine and transmission. I thought they were nuts !

Not sure I like the sound of the AC in the pop top (no pun intended).
@hikenrv4 ай бұрын
Interesting point..in this case we believe it sits just behind the pop top itself, at least when we looked at one of the photos.

@@hikenrv I was thinking more of the brand of AC compared with that in the non pop top model.

@@arkadventure2 sorry, got it! Not familiar at all with that Brand/model and if quiet in use. The Truma Aventa on the standard model generally seems well liked and is reasonably quiet as we understand it. Our van year has a Dometic, which works well but is loud.

We were so hoping they were going to send the Westfalia California to North America. Nancy

Our initial thoughts too, but don’t think that is a Westfalia brand. Westfalia though has made camper conversions in Europe on other auto brands than VW in the past and of course, being owned by Rapido now likely aligned more with using an existing RV line already here. Westfalia also currently offers a van in Europe based on a Fiat chassis as well - largely the same as a Promaster chassis here.
