Liverpool fan here, from an outsiders view I thought the problem with West Ham was when they went forward the midfield and defence completely separated. When you lost possession in the transition it to came back at you in spades. Because the midfield was empty, LFC with one long pass, individual runs or one touch passing ripped right through the middle of the park and onto your back four. A decent no6 would help, but it is more than that… it’s the coaching… that WHU team is not moving as a unit. You hit the woodwork twice and Paquatar or however you spell it slipped … you had chances… again as the lad said a no10 would help… a 6 and a 10 he rightly said were needed… but I think you need more than that… it’s a system, fitness, coaching issue.

Losing the ball at the wrong moments certainly gave you all the joy you wanted but the pressure you put teams is unbelievable and hard to withstand. We are short of quality especially in the midfield but also it's a clear sign we're lacking in ideas & fitness (as you mentioned). I don't think we are as bad as a lot of fans are saying and we are trying hard to change our system for the good, it's just going to take time (& a good transfer window) Good luck in the Semi's.

Liverpool are a seriously good team and at the moment we are just a team! But we did try to make things happen and that always a good sign. Would of helped matters if we didn't give the ball away so easily but that's the outcome of a very fit opposing team, putting pressure upon a ball carrier & stopping any momentum. You could see our players looked cream crackered after the match and who can blame them. A good New Year's rest is needed before facing another seriously good team! COYI!

The root of the problem lies with Steidten and Lopetegui , they brought in the wrong type of players. Honestly this season is probably the worst iv seen for years… I see passages of play in moments and can see what’s been happening at training but it’s all too small and inconsistent. I’m not exactly sure what’s supposed to be happening but none of it really is good or working. A lot of players can move imo. It’s gonna take a long time to get things to a certain level.
