Yes, those are ice sculptures. There is an ice sculpture competition as part of the Winterlude festival in Ottawa. Winterlude is an annual event that has been held since I was a child. It is usually some time in the first two weeks of February. The hotel was good. The room could use with a bit of a refresh, but the staff is nice and the location is great.
