Make a point of attending one....you can get very good things from the auction. Depending on the items some you can diy yourself or take to a Fundi.

one key question I have: do they allow you to test electronics before buying? or you just hope it's working

You buy items as it....you get to test the item but after you have bought it. Buying electronics at the auction is a risk.
