Correct. I bought 5000 shares of a company that was said to be bought out. I rolled the dice… I expected a $10-20 rise in shares on a buyout.. waited several months..the company’s drug got rejected by the FDA! It dropped by 2/3rds.. I lost $25000.

I just want to thank you for another excellent video. I usually walk away from each video learning at least one new thing, which will become invaluable over time. The group you're putting together sounds like it's going to be phenomenal. I'm not sure I'd qualify as a member, or I'd apply, but I hope over time you guys put together maybe a secondary, larger group/ network or maybe find ways for non-members to somehow be a part of some of the events/meetings you guys are doing with the main group, etc. Thanks for the continued excellent and thoughtful content.

Excellent video been loving the content! I have an unrelated question? Some of the compounders you discussed are listed on foreign exchanges. An example is Topicus. Is it more advantageous for US investor to just buy the foreign ordinaries like TOITF understanding the liquidity may cause higher bid ask spreads, or simply get brokerage approval to hold shares on the local exchange directly? Thanks!

I personally use Interactive Brokers, so I'm able to buy the native listing. I'm a big fan of the platform. Each OTC ticker is different, so I would look at the relative performance of the shares on TradingView, understand the fees, etc., before purchasing. Ideally, try and get access to the native listing, but there are cases where the OTC listing is very similar.

@@clayfinck431 thanks! I'm with Schwab so I think I'll see if adding the Global Account feature is similar cost wise so I can keep things consolidated. Probably worth having it as an option regardless

@@clayfinck431 My wife is higher than top secret with the feds so we can’t own foreign shares. Would you recommend the OTCs?

"Desire to grow faster than the competition" is not a tailwind. Tailwinds are external factors. Beyond that, all companies want to grow faster than their competition lol.

Is at all possible for a non professional investor to get an edge over the market by analyzing the publicly available financial data of any company? I have been working for 33 years at the same company in research and development in non management function. For this specific company that I know best my conclusion is that my knowledge is no edge in evaluating share price in 10 days, 1 year or 10 years. How then should my analysis of other companies be of any value?

I’d like to know the best platforms for viewing executive compensation. I’ve looked at proxy statements and they are often difficult to decipher. Though to be honest I haven’t really tried enough to learn, which is my fault.

I am wondering if following this checklist could save from purchasing good stocks when the market is bubbled and their high beta will materialize in the opposite direction (e.g. Amazon 2000)?

I mean you can’t eliminate downside. Literally not possible.

Nonsense. There is no such thing as a 100% set up. There are some that are 95% but those set ups are few and far behind. Realistically 70% is the best we can do day in and day out. That means that 30% or 3 in 10 trades is not going to work. That means that you have to cut the losses really fast on those 3 losing trades. Losing correctly, not trying to eliminate it, is the whole key to all of this. Look elsewhere this is not it.
