The Mount de Chantal Visitation Academy has been in Wheeling for 160 years.
It's an all-girls Catholic school listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
But Mount de Chantal is closing at the end of May.
In this story, Keri Brown looks at the history of the institution and what's being lost.
This story aired April 4 and 7th on the program Outlook on West Virginia PBS. Aaron Shackelford is the videographer and video editor

I still think about the Mount numerous times per month. I drive by it all the time, where it once stood, so it is unavoidable. The Christmas shows, the hand-bells and all the history that was lost. I could have made videos of the wonderful Christmas shows, but you never think about that. You take it for granted and one day...it is gone.
