Premiere at Kilian Kerner! The fashion designer has been living in Berlin for 19 years and is showing his apartment for the first time today. Stay tuned for exclusive insights into the designer's creative home. Let's start with the Kilian Kerner room tour.
Kilian Kerner has been living in his apartment for 5 years now, which impresses with its open living concept. The only separate room is the bedroom. Kilian Kerner is a fashion designer which is also reflected in his apartment. As in his job, he made a conscious choice of color beforehand and developed a design concept. From fabric samples to custom-made items: It was a creative process, just like he knows it from his work as a fashion designer.
First we find ourselves in the dining area. This has gained in importance for Kilian Kerner in recent months. Not only because he has developed a fondness for parlor games, but also because he now invites friends over more often. But you won't find any lamps in the German fashion designer's apartment, apart from a few isolated floor lamps. He doesn't really like them, he tells us. A habit he inherited from his grandmother.
The wooden stairs that lead to the living room are also very striking. There, the purple corduroy couch is an absolute eye-catcher. It looks cool next to the unfinished sandstone wall, which he left untouched as a reminder that the apartment used to be a brewery. He describes the furnishing style of his apartment as a mixture of commercial things and designer pieces, just like his wardrobe.
Among other things, Kilian Kerner became well known for his guest appearances in the casting show Germanys Next Topmodel. With a smile, he tells us that he would also like to be a future GNTM jury member. He also tells us another personal detail: Nena and Steffi Graf were role models for him as a child.
His home office area is also located in the corner of his open-plan apartment. A special piece: the extraordinary desk chair that the fashion designer found at a Berlin furniture manufacturer. This heaviness and the used look appealed to him!
How else should it be for a fashion designer: Kilian owns a large walk-in closet. Here he also chats with us about his styling preferences in everyday life. At the end of the home tour he shows us the bedroom. Most of the room consists of Kilian's huge bed. The fashion designer also likes to spend the first hour of the day here before he starts his working day.
That was the Kilian Kerner room tour. Would the designer's apartment be something for you too?
