The quarantine is a PR cover-up by Delos to keep what's going on in the park(s) a secret from the public. The quarantine reference is backed up by the official Delos site. It says that the park is currently closed after some type of viral outbreak and that the park is under quarantine. She references that it was Ford's automated script (or something to that effect).

Im pretty sure Elsie's line about the notices is a nod to the Delos website ARG. Those who signed up for their emails have gotten quarantine notices regarding the "troubles" at the park since the new season began.

After the big reveal that Ford's mind is in fact being stored within the cradle and this is the reason he is able to still influence the hosts, i believe Bernard's story arc this season is still being controlled by Ford. Ford's goal i believe is to successfully transfer Arnold's human mind into a Bernard host body. In order for him to do so, he needs Bernard to get himself to the cradle and connect into the cradle machine. We know after this episode that the minds of Ford, Bernard and Arnold are now all in the cradle at the same time AND, Dolores has been prepping Arnold's mind within the cradle. Its possible that Ford has created a Bernard body which is compatible with the human mind and this is the reason Bernard transfers bodies at some point before arriving to the cradle. Elsie may help Bernard with this under the impression that his old host body is breaking down OR Elsie in fact died in season 1 and Ford has recreated her through memories within Bernard's mind to help guide him towards the cradle. My only evidence of this is, no-one else has seen Elsie apart from Bernard, her face is clean and all the tech stuff she has done so far could have easily been done by Ford. Bit of a gut feeling on that last bit, not a lot of evidence so far. When Bernarnold arises on the beach, this is in fact Arnold and his first awakening in a host body. His mind has been inside the cradle for its whole existence up until this point, running through iterations of multiple story lines being processes simultaneously. This explains the memories and overlapping visions he is experiencing on the beach. Just my take on it.

How is Teddy on the train blowing up the Mesa, when the squad in the Mesa just fished his body out of the lake? And no, I'm pretty sure it's not a different time line. Fidelity refers to how closely a reproduction or copy resembles the original and doesn’t necessarily mean that the copy is equivalent to the original. An example would be a musician recording a song to a vinyl record. The record may sound exactly like the studio recording but will never be the original performance, just a close approximation. In fact, that recording will be more consistent to itself than the musician could ever possibly be. I mean, no two concert versions of a song are the same. A true human has less reliability and consistency than a robot copy. One symbolic reference to this is the turntable in James Delos observation room.

What if Charlotte is indeed working for a rival company...and that company is in fact set up by Ford. A final fail safe in case the Journey Into Night goes wrong, so that he can ensure his IP does not fall into the wrong hands? I get the feeling that the Delta force is working for Ford but Charlotte doesn't know it. He claimed (before he died) that he had been playing these games with the board and money men for a long time, and even threatened their deepest fear of breaking all his toys and going home. They can't get rid of him until they have control of the info so he has to guess that they would try some sort of corporate espionage, so why not set it up?

It’s possible, a dozen or so years ago, Dolores was helping Ford build Bernard using her experience with Arnold to help tune Bernard’s “fidelity.” And that tuning may well have been done in the CR4-DL, which I think we can assume has been around awhile.

The whole point of Grace's scenes was to try and distract you from the idea that William is dead. Look at his reactions to everything they talked about at the campfire, he was acting completely off. I talked a little more about this in the last comment I made but I find it highly likely William killed himself and is stuck in hell just like James Delos was. His path towards self-discovery is becoming more and more clear and he appears to be stuck in a loop right now. I am glad I called Ford being in the cradle the whole time, now it's a question of is it actually Ford? Or is Ford being simulated in likeness and appearance alone? Remember Peter Abernathy potentially has the entire cradle stored in his host currently which can leave open numerous possibilities, and if he is indeed the main villain of this show that I predicted him to be then it could be likely Abernathy is manipulating the hosts towards his 'revenges on you both'. I think Benard is the story of how everything at Westworld made something 'new' out of the idea of posthuman consciousness. He is the balanced idea of living forever and reincarnation and possibly the next step in human evolution. What they might be showing us is that Benard and Arnold have been the same person the whole time working to find balance with one another. I am not totally sure how but this concept I think is threading into "you only live for as long as the last person who remembers you" and Benarnold might be the representation of what it means to come back to life through memory and become something more. procreature I always cringe when in shows or movies when someone goes to off themselves by tucking the gun under their chin. The most likely brain injury to survive is to the frontal lobe. That could go really bad. I hate the idea of suicide, but if someone were determined I hope they would at least not suffer. Through the mouth into the brain stem is a sure thing. Of course if you're on a train full of explosives messing up with the bullet is a temporary setback though.

I was wondering if Phil could shoot the lock and kick open the door. The "rules" of Westworld seem to allow that sort of thing. ie) Bernard shooting Elsie's chains without ricochet. Phil still has the problem of jumping from a train at 40-50 mph though

I think the idea was that the tech could use the bullet on himself if the explosion didn't kill him. Of course, that bullet is sure to be used for something else. Probably a pivotal plot point. I would guess that is the bullet that will end up killing Teddy.

I gotta thank you for the train bomb theory! I've thought you were kinda off-base on some things but when you mentioned that it helped bring some of my guesses together & this episode actually bore out a lot of them! But my god guys, I was trying to figure out what Dolores did did with those 1/3 of hosts with virgin brains. I mean Ford figured out transfer of consciousness and Dolores gets the worthy hosts either uploaded into something or into new bodies leaving the old behind as distraction (with the cradle burned it must be the latter). But what bodies? The only bodies we know for sure we have copies of its Bernarnold's, a whole room of Bernarnolds. Either those are old used for his fidelity tests or their destruction isn't necessary between tests & Dolores is 'smuggling' everyone out as Bernarnold.

Awesome take in this vid. I felt the "BS Quarentine" notice was being sent to the mainland to not tip off the public at large as to what is going on in the park. I also felt like the fireside during conversation between William and Grace he was throwing out misleading info to see if she was a host and he erred on the side of caution and told her where to go for help, if it is indeed his dughter, but left her behind in case she was a host. I agree with the Ghost Nation being Ford's security force right now as well.

The show is really get better and better. Solid acting and great storylines. It looks to me as if Dolores wreaking havoc is a side show that is giving Maeve a way / time to become fully awake while Delos is busy trying to get the situation back under control. There is still a chance William is a hybrid host too... (the "door" is a game Ford made just for him)

One more thought, maybe there isn't a third company, back in season 1 Lee discusses what Delos wants from this place, he's told that the park is one thing to the management and another to the investors, so it could be the first group is being run by the board, i.e., Charlette and the first group dropped in and then the managements team comes at the 2 week mark. Just a thought.

Fantastic analysis! You earned a subscription. I'm not 100% sure Elsie is dead meat. I thought immeadiatly she was, because she's not in any of the 2 week future scenes, like Charlotte and Stubb's are... But could be a writer fake out.(maybe I'm just naive, cause I love the Bernard/Elsie tandom). Curious about the fact of the Maeve/Seizemore relationship... I loved the "thank you"/smile , they shared... I think that might mean that Seizemore's arc is turning him to a host sympathizer and Maeve will forgive his transgressions (the call)... Really hope they make amends.. we shall see... Also stoked that Hanaryo stuck with the Maeve squad! My favorite group now doubled up on Armistice. Love it!

The quarantine notice is a reference to the ARG. Ford has been sending out a notice that a serious virus has infected everyone at the park, so traffic in and out has been suspended. It's not mentioned in the show

Ghost Nation didn't kill the hosts at Maeve's home because they hadn't been infected by the awakening. Since it travelled through the mesh network and they are out alone in prairie land, it wouldn't have reached them. They're still on script, so Ghost Nation doesn't see them as enemies.

I honestly cant follow along with the timelines. From Bernard being reviewed like Will and his father-in-law, to how he doesnt have his scar on his forehead in crossing scenes. Also I just think Teddy has been screwed and he knows but can't do anything. I think Maeve's gunna be the "good" host trying to survive and not take the shit and I think Delores is gunna crash and burn. I also think that that red ball might even be Arnold, as someone said Ford might feel bad or something and is trying to bring him back? OMG that Delores and Bernard scene! Just like the Will &FIL!!!! Your videos are awesome for starters :) I hadn't considered Grace a host until she miraculously found her dad (quote/unquote?) in the middle of nowhere. And then I really thought back to her introduction and liked it even more - how her shooting Nick (i think it was?) didn't really prove anything in regards to her own nature. I'm on the fence on whether she's one or the other. If she is a host I can't see her being anything but a pawn of Ford's as William suspects though. I also don't think Ford would bring himself back (in physical form). I think that would undermine the way his story arc ended in season one. I rather think he's trying to bring back Arnold - which is why he's having Dolores fidelity-test him in the cradle. He wants his dear friend back. Or they're all aliens, who knows! :)

The Phase Space is a scientific term. One use of the phrase is for a system where all configurations occur simultaneously, so having hosts interact in a phase space would allow them to run through every type of interaction more or less simultaneously. Given the painful experience that the Delos host went through 149 times with bad results, you could run through thousands of these simulations like for instance Bernard with Dolores simultaneously in order to optimize the fidelity of the host mind and this might be Ford's method to create perfect human copies while Delos as a company still struggles.

We already know from previews that bernarnold is going to at least witness the slaughter in the control room and possibly aid it. The scene with Delores and Arnold in the beginning is a replay of a scene from season 1 Delores recalled on her journey to consciousness. Delores actually says "He DIDN'T say that", not he WOULDN'T say that, showing that the human-host hybrid Bernarnold she was questioning wasn't complete yet and didn't correctly follow Arnold's actual words.

If Ford has successfully managed to create a virtual mind of himself then there is nothing to say that he hasnt died ages ago. That his last body, the one we saw die wasnt just another host body that looked like him. Thats one thing that comes to mind, the other is that it seems Ford wanted Bernard to find Elsie to find the cradle to find him in this way. So he has some purpose for Bernard, and that purpose was for Bernard to enter the Cradle. Why? He could talk to Bernard via the Network if he wanted to, he didnt need to get him to arrive there, since Bernard is a host, and can be controled by "freeze all motor functions" etc. So the only reason i can think of is that Ford wanted Bernard to arrive there so that he gives him another brain ball.

I think it's interesting the number of times "hive mind" has been mentioned prominently. I think that will have an effect on how the uprising plays out and might be why all the hosts are drowned and 1/3 of them are basically empty.

Keep up the phenomenal work Hax, you walk the fine line between analysis and conspiracy theory intrinsic to the show perfectly, week after week. Here's a question: I've seen some people suggest that the Shogun is a parallel to the Confederados (or Craddock more specifically), but others have suggested he's actually a parallel to Wyatt-Dolores. Which means according to them, the Musashi/Captain fight is foreshadowing a showdown between Hector (maeve's Musashi) and Teddy (Dolore's "captain"). What are your thoughts? Does that make any sense?

9:38 - Sometimes my technical knowledge gets the best of me and interferes with my enjoyment of sci-fi. It's a challenge of the genre. Consider that some of what we see onscreen of the park's technology is there for the audience's benefit or to advance the storytelling. As a consequence, some finer details can become a bit hamfisted. As you pointed out, that string isn't for login. I believe it's part of a group identifier or even a hashtag, if you will, an area, a channel, and not part of any security authentication. XOmegaCH could be a channel name and perhaps the non-Delos entity is called XOmega. Think Slack channel.

enjoyed this review. i like that a couple of the story lines are seemingly converging. curious as to ghost nation looking to take a host with them, in maeve, after mostly showing interest in humans, even after having encountered maeve a few episodes back. seems her abilities might be of interest. also curious as to Ford's current and future role, as a ghost in the machine, keeping delos and other threats to the system at length and in tatters. seemingly buying time for many a host to come into their own recognizance.

Love your videos. A couple of points you missed were we hear from Charlotte in conversation with Stubbs that almost 7 days have passed which means Strand hasn't arrived as yet. Also in last episode we saw that tech lady (who hacked the system to start the map) dead in control room meaning the delta team will be dead until strand arrives. Charlotte would be saved by Stubbs as we have seen from earlier promos. When Strand arrives they will find Bernard is a host and put him in cradle. One question regarding your 'Bernard in cradle' theory, why the scene between Bernard and Dolores had different aspect ratio as compared to other scenes?

Quokka 88...That gives rise to two questions one in short term and other in long term. If Delos staff put Bernard in Cradle, then Ford can help him or can even mislead delos people as per his wishes? In long term perspective what's Ford's end game in regards to his presence in Cradle? Does he want to strike a deal with Delos organization that he should reside in the system and they can own the park because if they destroy cradle in hopes of destroying Ford they will lose their precious Ip, thats checkmate from Ford. Or he intends the park to be an independent identity as Arnold envisioned (no money men).

Really to me the cradle is where it's at, digital consciousness, as in Fords words "music".

That's really an interesting idea to speed up the process of creating an host hybrid of a human in comparison to Delos research method which is taking decades! There is a small catch here in case of Bernard, the person who took his fidelity test was a host so they could both enter the cradle as only a host can enter the cradle. So just for an example if Grace wants to become a host hybrid someone in her family has to be an host hybrid already, so both can enter cradle together for fidelity test. This very well might be 'The Door' game by Ford to William to convert him to a host hybrid and make him immortal. One side thought about cradle, can we describe it as a matrix world for hosts? A world of simulation for hosts, so can a host be aware of his/her presence in real world and cradle world at the same time? Dolores in 3rd episode said to Bernard that he didn't know who he really was, so maybe she knows he is host hybrid version of Arnold meaning she knows everything about the fidelity tests from the cradle. Her remark to Teddy in first episode that she knows the future means she is aware of her presence in cradle and knows the outcome of every simulation. Its a crazy power Dolores can have. She tells Teddy an old friend was foolish enough to show her what this park hides and that's her weapon. We thought it was William who showed it to her, but it might be Ford who showed her the cradle which can be her weapon to take over the world. - My personal appeal to long term is to see some proper 2001 space odyssey or transcendence happening. I really don't have any knowledge in artificial intelligence field, but I heard a debate that is A.I really conscious meaning will a self driving car be conscious of itself driving just as we do, no its just a set of algorithms. But in WW, they have created a conscious A.I in the form of Dolores. So if in future Dolores leaves her body and enters the system like Ford she will be a conscious A.I which thinks and feels like humans. What choices will she make then? Will she be the hero or villain? That's what Arnold and Ford were worried about her. Maeve is different from Dolores, she can be the good A.I to humanity.

I knew that humans physically going into the cradle thing was wrong. However, with the cradle, they can do fidelity tests with the consciousness of someone like Arnold a million times in a simulation and thus save much needed time it would take to get the program right.

I just came across you last week, watching the Cradle video; good stuff. I don't have any in depth analysis to the show, unlike some others here (not saying that negatively; merely a statement), but I do have a couple thoughts: 1) Dolores will be screwed over by Teddy and the other host (forget her name; the one that stabbed MiB when he was with Teddy in season 1); it's obvious Dolores is somewhat disturbed by Teddy's lack of compassion, and its obvious the other host is not. This will not end well for Dolores. 2) I'm thinking Stubbs goes against Delos at some point, and ends up assisting the hosts. It's just a thought, based on his reluctance to hurt Abernathy. 3)Felix will die this season, and it won't be a host that kills him. I like where his character is going this season, especially with the way this episode ended, but I think he'll die, which will set Maeve off a bit, realizing that there are humans she can care about. 4) I have no clear thoughts about Bernard or anything surrounding him. I am very much in the dark, but I enjoy reading other people's theories on him. Continue the great work, and I'll continue watching!!

I will be severely disappointed if William is a host. His whole deal was he was annoyed when the park was too tame. He was thrilled when he was actually in danger during the season finale. Just because his daughter says he forgot something from the past does not prove he is a host. It proves he was a shitty husband and father. I dont buy the Teddy being in Bernard. Makes no sense.

Weird but probably irrelevant bit about Bernard's pain. In the episode where Elsie returns, she turns off Bernard's pain centers, and later when injecting him with the brainball fluid she says "this is gonna hurt" (even though she had just turned off his pain.) Bernie didn't react with any pain and he is rebooted in safe mode. So between then and now she has removed safe mode (which I suppose indicates that she trusts him now) and she's also turned back on his ability to feel pain (why?)

AndyJP I noticed that too! Probably not irrelevant. I think Bernard with the scar has his pain turned off, Bernard without scar does not. There's been too many continuity errors for them to actually be continuity errors, if that makes sense.

Maybe Season 2 IS Ford's storyline - he one he announced at the end of Season 1. We are assuming that William's daughter was real but perhaps she FAILED his 'elephants' test? mayyyybe Delta team could be players/guests? Ford almost certainly uploaded himself to the CR4DL via Bernard. Perhaps inside there he tells Bernard to destroy the CR4DL and set everyone free..? Towards the end of Season 1 I think Felix told Maeve that she still had a narrative in place AFTER they broke free but the comment was swept aside.

HaxDogma I think one of the women made Teddy kill that tech on the train platform. Right before he shoots, when it zooms into him, everything goes quiet in his head and you hear a woman's voice say "narrow it down"...almost as a sublingual command like Mave is able to give now. I just watched the scene again and it's definitely there. Crazy.

Take another look at the globe. It was shown in season 1 as well and not only is Africa in the wrong place, but Antarctica is totally missing and the coastlines of the Americas and Europe are nothing like they are now. I don't know if you've ever seen it, but this show is starting to remind me of Elysium as well as some of Crichton's books. Keep up the good work.

See they did show that, but then they showed us Maeve learning she had other languages and could non-verbally communicate from that point too. The reason it failed was because she was using the wrong language. If she would have tried, it would have worked!
