Just took my D22 to West Yorkshire engine services for the shell upgrades and the timing chain upgrade plus a new clutch. Arrived to a warm welcome, very friendly and informative. I was even given a lift to the railway station which was only 2 miles away but still no trouble for them. Thanks Les & Suzanne

I may of put my comment on the wrong video but I just wanted to say a big Thanks for your videos. It helped me out tremendously. Doing a service on my car. Which is a Nissan pathfinder 2009 The only massive issue I had was trying to remove the oil filter. Totally seized and over tightened by who ever did it last. I ended up have to take the wheel off & cowling. But the worst part was the metal pipe just above the oil filter. Thanks Nissan for your stupid design of where you decided to put the oil filter. Nothing worked even trying above the engine which I tried to do before having to resort to removing wheel etc If its wasn't for your great videos. Which has taken me 2 weeks to find. I think I would of given up. I wish there was more garages that's as good & as honest as you. Specially this day and age. Which is hard to find. And is willing to share some advice & tips to help people such as myself that has been let down by garages. Really appreciate your wealth of knowledge. And will certainly be considering buying parts from your garage. Than the over inflated Nissan dealer where I'm based. They charged me £5 + vat for a sump plug brass washer. And wasn't even prepared to tell me the torque spec on the serpentine belt pulleys which needed changing. And stretched belts. Thank you for telling me about the oil pump O ring, I had just put a new head, water pump and timing chains on my D40, and wondered why the hell the oil light would stay on for 30 seconds after starting. Well after looking at this, I have now pulled it back down and guess what, I need a new O ring, thank you so much for your no bullshit and very informative videos.

good video! just did the job..seems to work allright. one detail i think is an improvement: when fitting tthe lower chain cover, i took out the locating pin.then, i could fit the chain cover without endangering the vital oil seal. tighten the bolts slightly, then hammer in a new pin/piece of 8 mm tube. the old one cannot be reused, its a very thinwalled tube, gets bent with the removal.

Omfg, those 3 bolts that hold the Catalytic converter, super hot here in Australia, i ended up using extention bar, with makita impact driver, the 3rd bolt, i took the front wheel off to get access to it. 😳

Hi I've just taken my 2011 Nissan Nivara apart to change the timing chain, and I'm not sure that the balance Shaft was put back in the right position when it was changed last, it runs a bit lumpy on first start of the day for a couple of seconds and revs a little higher than normal, I don't know if this is connected in any way but I thought it was worth mentioning, how do I set up the balance Shaft to make sure it is correct please

I found out how to do it now it now thanks to your videos. There are two bolts down the bottom of the catalytic exhaust/converter that’s attached to the turbo. Find these two bolts and remove them. (I got to both bolts from the left hand side behind the wheel) Then remove the 3 bolts connecting the turbo to the catalytic converter and the other 4 bolts connected to the exhaust manifold. Then under the turbo you’ll either remove the two bolts for the tubes or you’ll need to remove the hose from the tube going down to the engine block and the bolt and washer. Once that’s done remove the top two little bolts for the other hose/attachment. That’s it. Now pry the catalytic converter backwards as you lift the turbo. Took me three days to master this. Lol.

Hy I'm Paul from malta first of all thanks to help many mechanics even me with your information. .the second thing i fix many Nissan navara in malta and now 1 Nissan navara 2007 d40 is coming with noise is pinking when press the gas more than 2500rpm in the same time is very smoke white .the engine is working 100% but when press the gas more than 2500rpm the engine make this noise the torque of the engine is very good. Is possible the injectors ? If I find this problem i put the answer here guys ceers

@@westyorkshireengineservice9160 only the sprockets as I'm installing a new chain, so I believe it is better to change both, chain and both sprockets. In Your video, the engine is completelly stripped off. On mine are still the injector holders and injector installed as I'm a bit afraid to try to remove them (very bad experience from chrysler, they were very hard to remove).

Never done this engine before and just making sure i get everything right. To get it done properly and as what nissan says i've unbolted from gbox and taken engine out, both sumps off etc.

been taking pictures from your video that may help, since i'm replacing the diesel fuel pump, any tips on getting it timed properly? Got the new pump in but waiting on the oil seal which i'm replacing (and should be) before i can put gear and hardware back on. The original shim is still stuck to the gear in it's original position which is good lol

@@westyorkshireengineservice9160 also with the new vacuum pump it doesn't have a oil drain to the pipe on the supper sump and we thought it must be wrong and got in contact with nissan and said we use the new pump, they changed it for some reason and you literally block off the pipe on the sump and gave us the part listings in which we ordered. it appears the new one drains into the timing case and the rest of the design is pretty much the same with the oil feed pipe with banjo bolt into the back of it.

most diesel engines now have the timing chain at the back of the engine.and all are a single chain, and not a duplex chain hence the are braking early .wether this is done for that reason? same now with petrol engines .
