Des should do some Raised gardens, can get around that clay soil by raising them and buying some top soil. Especially with the new dump truck

Look at growing potatoes in hay... It seems pretty straight forward and easy... and who doesn't love potatoes...

Ruth Stout gardening. The lazy gardener. She would throw potatoes on the ground and then cover them with hay. As the potatoes grew she would add more hay. If you have extra hay in the spring you can give that a try.

Nice job Dezi, okay wet hay. Burn it in your garden area. It would be perfect as a soil amendment. No one is going to want it for feed. Not only is wet hay dangerous, it is not good for animals to eat. They will bloat to explosion and you don't want that. Just burn it. Thats my good sense👍🐂🚜 Happy farmering

I came here from your other channel and I'm so glad y'all started this channel. It's my new fave. We just started a farm too but sadly no vlog. We have three new rescued horses, three goats, 10 chickens and two ducks. LOVE seeing what you are doing with your place. I've also been a firefighter for 15 years and can relate to a lot of what you all deal with.

Lay down an impermeable cover like a vinyl tarp over your garden rows for the winter. It’ll speed up the composting and kill all the grass and weeds around it. I do it every year!

Also just put it away from the house and barn lay down a large tarp or two and put the wet hay on that and then put more large tarps on top and tie them together and let them dry out. Just keep the hay pile away from any structures as they dry out in the tarps.

But as soon as I started a few raised beds things just starting growing faster than I could've ever imagined. Definitely worth watching a few YT vids on this subject to see if it'll work for y'all.

Maybe you could make a maze or fort out of the hay....eventually you need to build out the Powell Family compound into a place that you can charge admission to at least in the Fall for like a pumpkin patch and dangerous hay rides.
