Wet 'n Wild LAST DAY EVER Closing Video As The FINAL Guest 12.31.16!!!

For over 38 years, Wet 'n Wild Orlando has been a pioneer for the water park and amusement industry. After opening on March 13, 1977, the location became a staple for tourists from around the world. We visit the park on the last day of park operations EVER to see the final sending off of an icon. Take a look at the festivities including fireworks and the final gate closing, with us being the lasts guests ever through the gate.

I literally lived some of the best moments of my life at this water park.. from spending time with friends on hot days, to enjoying family moments together, to coming back over and over and over with that special someone just because we could and we had a year pass. WetnWild was part of my life for so many years and for sure will miss this place and all the sweet moments.

Thanks for covering this - Universal had already yanked the park's social media accounts prior to my visit just before Christmas. The gift shop was already closed by then, but at least they still had the souvenir towels. I am hoping if Universal builds a hotel there, they can find a way to preserve the lazy river and maybe even the wave pool for resort guests.

It is a sad day as I have many fond memories going to that park when I was a kid back in the early 1980's. I remember slides like the Raging Rapids, Corkscrew, Mach 5 Alpha and Beta, the Hydro Maniac, Hydro Fighters, and the Kamikaze, the original water slide. I was last there in November and the gift shop was pretty much cleaned out and the ticket booths were already closed then as well. In fact, the ticket booths were closed when I went in August of 2015.

I moved to Florida not far from Orlando back in 2010 and when living in Georgia been coming down to Orlando and been going to the park since 2000. When I became a Florida resident, I bought all year round passes for both admission and parking up to the last day. Sure will miss and that wave pool, "Rrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr...dude! Here come the waves!"

Though I miss the old park, I too like Volcano Bay and even being just a year old are already adding some newer additions. Early last month they now have live Hawaiian/Pacific Island dancers to spice things up.

I would hope that the Wet-N-Wild water-slides maybe get sold to other amusement/theme park chains (Six Flags, Cedar Fair, Hershend Family Entertainment, Premier Parks, SeaWorld/Busch Gardens, etc.) looking to expand existing waterparks, or add new waterparks, assuming they won't be part of the new Volcano Bay waterpark. It's an idea.

Such a sad davit was the first water park Ive ever been to my dad took my brother and I every year growing up. I remember when the Storm came out and waited hours to ride it. We waited so long we actually ordered food from across the street and they slid it through the fence where we were standing lmao.What great times. I hope this new Volcano Bay is amazing though so I can take my kids there yearly like my father before me.

yes i meant price in disney for 1 ticket 10 and up iss 60 dollars and 54 dollars from 3-9 to get into blizzard beach so imagine volcano bay even though volcano bay isnt by disney

I feel so emotional seeing this... i saw the "grave yard" of Wet'n Wild in June and the single black tube as a grave is heart breaking. We went to Volcano Bay in June and it was a mediocre day compared to the times we had at wet n wild. It feels like someone has died when we saw this. is this just me? am i being over sentimental in my old age?

Makes me think of wild water kingdom all over again. I could tell they rushed everyone out. At wildwater kingdom, they let people stay as long as they wanted. My family, friends and I were one of the very last ones out. Wildwter Kingdm closed at 7pm, we wereout at 9.
