Try putting some soap on the paper. Just pure soap Velvet is a brand here in Australia I'm not sure what you have. The paper moves really nice and the soap picks up some of the sand. Give it a try it's called cut and slice,I think you'll like it.

I had a dark blue Mercury Montego. I bought it when I came back from Europe. It had a worn out 302. I wish I had kept it and stored it. Nice class and thanks for the video.

My first car was a 72 Torino sport fastback. Bought it in 84 and loved it. After some work, it was the second fastest at school ( beat by a 69 Camaro) custom made a mach1 fin from an old surfboard, wiped the door handles and trunk latch. I wish i never sold it. Now I’m in the slow process of restoring my grandmother’s 63.5 galaxy fastback. Watch your shows on occasion and will go back and watch again when I’m ready to get started again. Keep up the fun informational videos. Thanks. Jim

I have a 73 Gran Torino Sport had a 400, put a 351 Cleveland with trick flow heads FPA headers, FiTech fuel injection, MSD digitalis ignition. I 74 spindles on it in order to put a Baer brakes kit on it. I’ve had this car since I was 12 (1988). For the most part finished with rebuild, even though they are never finished, in 2017 ish. I have picked your brain via email about this car several years ago.

Just for maximizing your sandpaper, tear it just like you did, but fold it into thirds instead of in half. It fits the block better, and you get a third side to use. :) And yes looks good from here. Love your content. Thanks

You, just made this look doable for me. Until now I've been hesitant to do this myself.

I notice a 1968 or 1969 dash pad behind you. My first car was a 1968 Torino GT with the 390, I bought it when I was 16 in 1971. I currently have a 1969 Fairlane 500 fastback. It has been my project car for over 40 years now. I need to do a good wet sand and buff on the 40 year old paint. Hope you will show the buff process also.

Nice to see the Snarky & Grouch car coming along! 😁 A cousin who is a Brand C fellow does dig the Starsky & Hutch car, and the TV show. Found an ad recently for a '74 Torino being sold as a Starsky & Hutch replica. My pals were quick to educate folks on how to spot the real deal, which that one was not. Although I've never owned one, I've always had a fondness for the '68 to '69 Torino fastback. In exchange for a weight penalty, no need for a shoe horn to get people in the back seat, like for a Mustang. Tom McCahill once referred to the hood scoop as a "mouse house." I knew one family that owned two of those red fastbacks. The teenaged son modified the three-on-the-tree on his with a reversed shift pattern. He said he did it to deter thieves, but nowadays just having a manual transmission would be sufficient. I just wish I could have borrowed it when I took his sister to the prom. 😊

The movie inspired me to look for a Gran Torino. Hard to find in Alaska. I found one on craigslist for $500.00 we did lots of work to it .Had to go with the Starsky theme .I love the body lines on the 74-76 Torino. Hopefully the gas mileage won't be to bad with 4R70W.

The only tip o learned in body shop was to use an auto soap to help lube the paper and can give you a faster result.
