Nice looking and quick. For a DIY, simply you can use white vinegar soaking for several hours. Vinegar will clean all parts of the carb and also dissolve all kinds of rust.- corrosion.

In my opinion - the wet soda blast produces a more OEM appearance than using a grit such as glass etc and therefore would be very suitable where an exact factory look is still desired. Have a safe and nice day. CHEERS from AUSTRALIA.

This type of cleaning has been widely available in Great Britain for years (called vapor blasting), wish I could find a local outfit here in Calif. to do this type of work. When I call around, no one even knows what I'm talking about. Does an amazing job on alloys and is far superior to anything else requiring a delicate touch.

Vapor Blasting uses many types of abrasive not just glass beads although this is a very common abrasive used.

go to this website: www.clemcoindustries.com and seek a distributor in California. That distributor would know who has purchased soda blasting equipment and they might be who you could contact.

You can use an attachment on your pressure washer to siphon media. Works good but clogs easily.

What is the price range of the machines listed on your website? I currently use a harbor freight cabinet with soda followed by an ultrasonic cleaner. I'm really happy with the results considering how much I have invested in my setup.

I know it's obvious, but if you're cleaning a part that has areas that you can't get to easily or effectively using a blasting method, it can help to first soak the part for a few hours (if you've got time to do so) in some kind of cleaner. I've found that even a very basic approach of using Pine-Sol mixed with hot water is effective, and then I do the soda blasting.

My problem i don't want to spend $400 on 50lb bag of soda for my home vapor blaster considering it eats glass about x5-x10 quicker than my dry system (although it involves more safety equipment not to die). I consider there maybe a flaw in my system but as i don't have a professional handy i probably will never know or be explained how the soda doesn't just dissolve (as got told pool soda work too and is cheap) I will get there or ill get rich first and by a commercial setup

I searched here to find out about firearms cleaning with soda, could find nothing about dry or wet soda blasting to clean carbon and or gunpowder out of a gun..can it safely do it without harm? I know it would be followed up with gun oil..needless to say. I ask cause I have a good blaster and compressor but it's not been experimented with much cause it's fairly new. I don't shoot much but the few times I did, cleaning them takes hours, just wondering if this would make it much easier.

Yes, Vapor Blasting will clean rust off guns and prepping for coating. At this time, we are working with some firearm channels to get a video about rust and guns but we do have old videos. Please see links below. Feel free to give us a call or email us. We will be glad to answer any questions for you. kzbin.info/www/bejne/aIKshZqBdsShh9U kzbin.info/www/bejne/api2hYJud817h80

Yes. Any use of bi-carb wet or dry is a superior form of parts cleaning. Of course with wet you need to assure that the parts dry properly. I shoot black powder and I clean my flintlock with hot soapy water after each session. I hadn't considered soda blasting until now, even though I work for a company that has pioneered the process. As for boring (comment by northerniltree) if doing a job (any job) properly, daunts you, why do it? And of course that begs... why complain? oh yes, because you are being: "cool"! Seriously?

How would this work on a fiberglass body to remove paint?

It may work with garnet as the abrasive o strip the paint but not exactly sure.

Good question. I'm out to the plant today to do some swing arm cleaning with alox. Ill ask our tech manager about cleaning fiberglass with soda blasting and post an answer back as soon as I find something out.
@phoenix5466 жыл бұрын
Soda with strip paint off fiberglass but it won't leave a good profile to reapply your neccessary primers. I run a crushed glass on boat hulls through my dustless blaster. The right pressure can remove the gel coat blisters aswell

I completely disassemble the carbs and use glass beads on the carb body's because it makes them look new. Yeah it's more work cleaning the media but you get a much better look with a fresh clean body and polished parts when they are put back together and put on your bike.

I'm restoring a bank of 4 Mikuni's which were painted black from new, I have done the ultrasonic cleaning process 3 times so they are minty fresh internally but getting the last traces of the original paint off the outside of them is a real pain and that is where this system would be the only safe answer !
