Thank you! I love working with wet live oak wood. Merry Christmas!

Well done Jeff. A live edge looks great as it warps and moves. We just hope to reduce/eliminate any cracking. Keeping oil on it is a great way to help with that process. Good looking chunk of wood and a beautiful bowl.

I appreciate the comment. I am happy you enjoyed the video. I have a bunch of half logs ready to be made into bowls. I find turning wet wood much easier but now I need to try and prevent to much warping or cracking, Merry Christmas.

Thank you for this suggestion. So far I have notice a couple small cracks, 1/4” long in the base and a crack about 1/2” long in the foot of the bowl. I believe this is because I am still a little too thick in these areas and not consistently thin all over. I am controlling the cracks by using black and brown CA glue and keeping the bowl oiled.

I plan to turn another wet bowl soon but get it thiner. I am now working on segmented bowls to replenish my Etsy Shop or I would do it now. I find experimenting exciting
