Beautiful piece William mate. Yeah Balinese Teak always has cracks you have to deal with but I think the beauty of the wood makes the extra effort worth while. Shay

The wood is very nice, but what I like the most is the shape. In my opinion you are a master at complementary angles and proportions. Your pieces are engaging and pleasing to the eye. I enjoy watching your shapes come to life. Another well done!

Really nice piece Will! I’ve never seen that wood turned before, it’s pretty. A really neat trick I learned from watching Kent at “Turn a wood bowl” is to use a small amount of PVA glue and sand it in for non-structural cracks. It really makes them disappear.

Another beautiful piece, thanks for sharing. I'm still fairly new to turning (about 5 months) and starting to look at hollowing more than 3-4 inches, what tools were you using to hollow after the Forstner bit, and where was that scraper from? Thanks!
@William_KennyАй бұрын
Thanks very much, Max. appreciate you watching, I used the pro hollower from Easy Wood Tools, the Simon Hope Pro hollower, and the Negative rake scraper, Kind regards From Will 👍 www.easywoodtools.com/product-page/easy-pro-hollower-1 www.hopewoodturning.co.uk/product/hope-carbide-pro-hollowing-tool/ www.hopewoodturning.co.uk/product/deep-vase-negative-rake-scraper/ Check out these. I find them amazing, happy and safe turning 👍

Do you ever use friction wax finishes? What do you like about the Citrus burnishing oil?
@William_KennyАй бұрын
I have never tried friction wax finishes but will definitely try it, The reason I use burnishing oil is it's easy to apply, and it can be burnished dry in minutes, also can also be overcoated with waxes or lacquers if you wish, Kind regards From Will 👍
