Everything in this movie is great, specially the animation. Every detail, from the reflections on the sea, to every single hair moving with the wind, the lightning effects, everything is so perfect. In my opinion, if it wasn't for the cartoony characters, some scenes could pass as live action sequences.

Notice Spielberg rocks with the motion of the gymbal mimicking the motion of the boat rocking back and forth; that way he keeps his mind focused on what the actors are feeling. Man's a genius, and like a kid in a candy store with this new tech.

It isn't easy to direct actors when they are doing Motion Capture animation, or MoCap... Actors have a tendency to overact their movements when doing mocap with the result of very unconvincing animation. Just look at some games, like the Grand Theft Auto series where most Mocap is not properly directed. Andy Serkis though, is a master when it comes down to MoCap acting, he's also a great director, can't wait for the next movie or computer game which involves Andy Serkis' Mocap acting or directing.

I personally think the film was good, considering that it was based from three comic books from Tintin (I have also read the comics), it is not always possible for seperate films to be made for each comic book so I liked how they made a new story with a combination of elements and parts from the comics, lets hope the sequel is also good.

Dude one of the greatest movies I have witnessed while in the movie theater. Still wish there was a sequel to this. It's impressive that it still looks good till this day. Even if some shots primarily being market for the 3D aesthetic, it was thrilling to rewatch this whenever I want to.

For everyone that has been asking for this, I might have a good news: [From Tintin Facebook page, translated] Tintin 2 shooting in 2019? Peter Jackson believes it! the 12/11/2018 at 17:40 by Elodie Bardinet Sony The director of The Lord of the Rings always wants to adapt The Temple of the Sun. In 2011, Steven Spielberg divided critics and the public with his free adaptation of Tintin's Adventures: The Secret of the Unicorn, animated in relief through the technique of performance capture. If the director was acclaimed for his phenomenal staging, he was also criticized for not being really faithful to the comics of Hergé. In the end, the blockbuster has reported "only" 373 million dollars in the world, and seven years later, his suite has still not been officially launched. STEVEN SPIELBERG: "PETER JACKSON WILL SOON WORK ON THE FOLLOWING TINTIN ADVENTURES" This feature, which will mix The Seven Crystal Balls and The Temple of the Sun, should be filmed by Peter Jackson. The director of Lord of the Rings was already co-producer of the original film, and he repeats over the interviews that he dreams of shooting this sequel. Currently in double promotion (he produced the film SF Mortal Engines and the documentary They Shall Not Grow Old, on the soldiers of the First World War), he revealed to Empire that the project was well advanced. "It is possible that we film the performance capture next year," he says, confident, before saying that "a movie only becomes real once you have got the money from the studio . " Good news for all fans of the first episode, who are waiting for this sequel, starting with one of his main actors, Andy Serkis, who revealed us last May look forward to replaying Captain Haddock: "J ' would love to shoot Tintin's sequel, I hope Peter Jackson is going to remind us to put that back in. I want to replay Captain Haddock, I really like that character, so keep asking the question, the more people want a sequel, the more there will be a chance it will happen. "
