As a former resident of Ocean shores I can tell you that that building that you covered in this story was almost complete when they decided to add on the office space. Down on the south end the city built a garage and parked a couple of older fire trucks in it and called it a fire station just to lower the city's insurance rates, however its not a manned fire station. I think you need to investigate the airport as well the corruption of that city and having to deal with Inslee as a state leader was a big factor in why I moved out of state last year aft 50+ years

If you don't live in city limits you have to pay to use library
@WeTheGoverned3 жыл бұрын
That is not entirely uncommon. For example, in Renton, I remember that the water park/pool the city built had two rates - one for residents and one for non-residents. The theory being that the resident's tax dollars built it, and they should have a reduced rate accordingly. However, libraries don't have too many "costs" associated with them for "using" them, so I'm not sure exactly what you mean - renting a room? Or checking out books?

Sometimes people just want to drive their car, not work on the engine. Make no mistake though, there are many of us who are working to try to fix things in O.S. But we're up against things like the current mayor forbidding city employees to speak to a particular council member, jumping up in the middle of a resident's public comment and yanking the mic cable out, a handful of council members announcing that "public comment" at council meetings should be abolished, and one particular council member admitting in a public document that he voted to greenlight a rather expensive project "along political lines" and not because it was a good idea. And then there are some state and county agencies who could step in but for some reason always choose to turn their back when queried. There is no oversight here -- the mayor has worked hard to establish herself as her own "oversight" and she's running the totalitarian playbook.
