Urban Legend, I Know What You Did Last Summer and Scream are the trinity slashers of the late 90's I like Urban Legend over I Know What You Did Last Summer and between this movie the most dark of the 3 and I love the opening scene with Natasha Wagner and Brad Dourif characters definitely up there with Scream opening scene and I like the kills are based off of urban legends that's creative.

LOVE Urban Legend. This was the sweet spot for much of the cast between beginner projects, and ones that would make them bigger names. Well written, well cast, well acted, and a ton of fun. If we had known back then that fast forward about a decade, Brad Dourif would play Danielle Harris' dad in a Halloween reboot experiment by Rob Zombie (who musically seemed to peak around the time Urban Legend came out...). Thank you Mike!

Behind Scream, this was my favorite Scream like movie that came out. I just had SO much fun with it. I also thought the killer was amazing when they really got to be unhinged. They just went for it. It was very reminiscent of Matthew Lillard in Scream. Also, shout out to Brad Dourif's cameo. I kinda love that we got Chucky and Freddy in the same movie, even if they didn't share a scene. Danielle Harris too. There were SO many horror icons just peppered through there. Its great. This movie did for backseats what Final Destination did for log trucks lol Also, Liar Liar is still one of my favorite Jim Carrey movies. "Bad baby, bad baby"

I really like this review, Urban Legends is still one of my favorite slashers. I really like that people still remember him, I'm even still waiting for the sequel. I love Brenda, she's probably one of the funniest maniacs in slashers, she reminds me of Stu, she's just as funny and even has fun to the fullest in the finale! I express my great gratitude to such people who still remember this diamond. "I already tried therapy! Obviously, it did me no good, Natalie" - Brenda Bates.

I remember seeing this at a dollar movie theater back in 1998 at 17 years old. I always liked it minus the ridiculous killer reveal ending and pook fake out scene. Plus! Chris Young's score has some nice homages to Harry Manfredini Friday the 13th films sprinkled throughout.

I've been watching horror and thriller genre since I was like 10 (so approximately two decades now). Haven't found anything that tops Scream in my opinion. But a lot of 90-early 2000s movies are my go-to "comfort shows" 😅 I watched this yearssss ago and recently found it streaming on something, so I made my "horror obsessed" boyfriend watch it because he's never seen it. I also had to introduce him to the langoliers, sometimes they come back, rose Red, joy ride, ghost ship, and identity (and he calls himself a horror fan 🙄) haha. Urband Legend is a great movie though. Easily a yearly rewatch-er for me

I have loved this movie since it first came out! And I've recently been rewatching it on the Scream Factory Blu-ray that came out a few years ago, along with the making of special features and the commentaries! Two things I found very interesting while watching them though. The college crest that the production crew created for the college in the movie.... There is a Latin phrase on it that translates to, "The best friend did it." lmao Clever as hell! And Tara Reid almost died in this movie! She did all her own stunts and the ax used in her chase/death scene was a real ax! So it came within like an inch of connecting with her face when the killer comes around the corner and just misses with the swing!

This is my favorite slasher movie of all time! I know it's not the scariest but I'm the most nostalgic for this slasher than all the others but I love the urban legend aspect and it has one of the best chase sequences in a slasher film with Tara Reid. I will say Sarah Michelle Gellar's chase scene in I know What You Did Last Summer did a great job as well! These series are definitely underated compared to the Scream franchise

I have a lot of fun with this one - the Parker kill may be the best in any of these movies, the triple Urban Legend thing absolutely hits - but it has its problems. Particularly some of the killer's dialogue at the end. ("I guess I am a little... nutty." Four people got paid to check this dialogue folks. It's in the credits. I checked.) I'm amazed you didn't mention Loretta Devine. She doesn't have a large role but man, she makes the most of it. Possibly the most fun character. Tara Reid is great, Michael Rosenbaum is great, Joshua Jackson is great and should've been in this thing WAY more. And there are some lovely little touches. Like the girl at the start singing "Turn around" to "Total Eclipse of the Heart" while the killer is behind her. Now THERE'S a Scream throwback. "Turn around, Jamie! Turn around!" On the negative side... I kinda hated the final girl. One of the worst final girls easily. Even thinking back to the movie now, I can't think of a single thing she does in this movie except act kinda shifty and complain. She does a lot of that. It feels like one of those movies where the cast gets killed off in reverse order of interest, so the three least charismatic characters are left at the end. (Plus Loretta Devine, who they had the good sense to not kill off.) I also found it super obvious who the killer was. As soon as they set up Gayheart as Witt's love-rival, I was like "It's her." I don't think there was anybody else I even slightly suspected, except Joshua Jackson at the very beginning, and that got scotched when they killed him off. The scene where Witt's character "confesses" to Gayheart (this is how bad the final girl is, she's the only one of the main cast whose character name I can't remember) about the guy she accidentally killed just nailed it down for me. I was like "You realise you're saying this to his girlfriend, right?" Even when I figure out the killer I like there to be at least something at the end that surprises me in these movies, and there was nothing here. Still a fun movie, if flawed.
