Friday the 13th: 3D Cancelled Script RECAP Review (Nick Antosca Script)

After the small, weak children over at Paramount FAILED hard to make a Jason Voorhees film, we've had TWO cancelled scripts since.....the first one written by Nick Antosca (Channel Zero creator) was one nobody seemed too bummed about.....then it leaked and now we are all pretty butt hurt that it never got made. Well tell you why.....here's our recap of the entire FRIDAY THE 13TH: 3D Script. This is the cancelled 3D script. Not the third movie in the franchise. Snoogans.

If I ever make it as a film maker it’s my dream to make 4 Friday movies, first one would be set in 1996 (cus we never got a Good Friday movie in the 90s)at a theatre camp for seniors in HS and a bunch of college students as counselors, that one’ll just be full on classic Friday the 13th, in a fun but serious way. Second one will be early 2000s and we get jason in the snow as they’re trying to turn it into a ski resort thing. Part 3 would be our current times and we get full on zombie jason, going off of your idea where people are trying to tear it down and jason just gets to fuck em up with construction equipment and stuff. And finally we have a new final Friday part 4, but ITS JASON TAKES MANHATTAN DONE RIGHT ‼️‼️ by this point the military got involved to test jason, during transport to NY he breaks out and we get what we shoudlve gotten in the 80s, jason walking around NY just bein jason (also being hunted down so there’ll be a lot more action). Each movie will have great characters, since that was always Friday’s biggest downfall, and Jason will be treated like a universal movie monster (as I think all slashers are going to be with the new resurgence), we’ll make him scary but the movies are just gonna be gewy drops fun. (Ps fuckin love the script recaps, can’t wait till y’all get another good one to share, keep up the great work ‼️🖤‼️)

Anything is possible. There's been canceled things before that got picked up by others and made, it could happen with this script. I'm sure we'll eventually get another Jason, if we can get Smurfs 3, then we will get Jason again.

That's what I say too. If I become a filmmaker, I thought the idea of attempting to purchase an existing script like Antosca's _F13_ script or the Dunstan/Melton _Halloween Returns_ script, in an attempt to make them into actual films. If I could, I would pay a f*ck-ton of money to adapt these scripts to film.

This is probably my favorite script version for the new Jason movie so far. I liked the idea of going into Jason's backstory with his father and all, but the way I heard they were gonna do that was definitely too over complicated and stuffed. I would of been happy with this. I want my Jason back, I miss him and its been too long. I just want one more Ft13 movie before I die.

This is the longest we've been without a Friday the 13th movie ever; there's never been this big of a gap between Fridays, and that's got me worried that it'll be another decade or so before anything happens with Jason, which would suck donkey balls! The Friday the 13th movies have been stuck in development hell since 2009, and I really want another movie. It isn't rocket science, it's a guy in a hockey mask killing people in brutal ways, and that's all they need to deliver on to get asses in seats. As far as I'm concerned, from the way you guys described this script it would've been awesome, and they most definitely would've had my money.

I'm so mad that they never made this into a movie, Jason is at his best when he's at his element (the camp); you can't help but feel vulnerable when you're camping or at a summer camp. I will say reading the character descriptions in the beginning- I thought Amber was going to be the final girl- boy I was wrong.

Oh, man, I had to find and read the script after watching ya'lls video. Found it, read it, and LOVED IT. Honestly, this is the Friday the 13th movie I always wanted. Huh??? Paramount clearly made the best F13 films. New Line Cinema obviously destroyed and ruined the franchise. It is and always will be NEARLY IMPOSSIBLE to rehatch these popular franchises. F13, Halloween etc. EVIL DEAD is a very good example of a quality remake and/ or reimaganing. But must follow-ups will most certainly be cash grabs. And the studios know we the fans will pay to see them REGARDLESE

I think this script would have been great for a new Friday the 13th movie. I doubt another company will buy it now that it's been leaked online. I'm sure another company will buy the rights to the franchise and put a new movie out eventually. I just hope they do it justice. They should just do a remake like the 1998 Psycho remake, where it was basically shot frame for frame like the original. With good actors a remake like that (with a few script tweaks) could be really good.

The movie was actually good but lost me as soon as the killing started, which is weird. I’d prefer if he didn’t go all blockbuster with that. It's Friday the fucking 13th! Friday the 13th is my favorite horror franchise, and although I hated Jason Takes Manhattan, Jason Goes To Hell and Jason X, I did love FvsJ and the 2009 remake. Hopefully when the rights go back to New Line next year we will finally get our 13th movie in the Friday the 13th series.

I liked it right up until the cop part at the end. That does seem a bit much, but I would have enjoyed the rest of it. As long as the cast was good I think it would have been alright. Most people are just worried about Jason, but for me the people he's killing have to at least be a little likeable in order for me to invest in it. I wasn't crazy about the remake, and a lot of that had to do with the cast, and how stupid the characters were. I like it more as time goes on, but I'll never view it in the same way I do the originals. If they ever do make another one I would hope for them to do something similar to what the new Halloween is doing, and by that I just mean have it connect to the original series in some way. That's all I want. I'm not saying they need to bring back any of the past survivors, although that would be an added bonus, but just acknowledge that all of that stuff did happen. The last thing I want is another reboot. I want a movie where what happened in the other movies is still considered canon. If Halloween can go back to the original franchise, and create multiple alternate timelines, then why can't Friday the 13th simply have another sequel?

I don't like the idea of Jason running. I think the best Friday the 13th film was part VI and in that movie we see Jason's determination walking through the woods. He knows where he's going and he knows he'll get there. He's supernatural. There is no reason that he was need to run and that's what killed the 2009 remake for me. In a way, he's like a superpowered zombie. Zombies don't run.

That's a good point. However I think most Friday the 13th/Jason fans have completely written off the garbage that was the 2009 film/reboot. That should be a good indication of where NOT to take the next film. Just stay true to who he is. For any future Jason films, they should just watch and rewatch the masterpiece that is Jason Lives and take notes.

I think this film sounds pretty good not great but pretty good.If the cop kills at the end was very cool an gory I could love it.As for the other script I love the idea of bringing jasons father in.But not as a killer I like the idea of showing snippets of jasons childhood until his drowning.But only if done in snippets.I wouldnt want to much jason origin stuff but just enough.To get an idea of it.I really do think Jasons father is untapped potential that could be explored in a sequel.I hate the idea of 3 killers in one film though.What ever they do with jasons father it needs to be different an not just a repeat of his mother.

Paramount can be idiots sometimes. You now how much of a cut they took of both the two iron man sequels comebine 18 percent. No wonder back in 2017 of all the movie studios paramount was the closets to going under going bankrupt. That was the worst finical year for the theaters in 17 years 2000 our earlier back then that was the last time the film studios finical under performed as bad as they did in 2017.
