Sad state of modern music when this woman isn’t ridiculously famous.

Far more people are able to have a career in music than they were 60 years ago. It's possible Weyes Blood would of been able to break through and release 3 albums at any point in the last 60 years but its much more likely now. How many female singer songwriters from yhe 60s can you name that had wide releases of 3 albums, TV appearances and a 10 year career?

This is a great cover by someone who is a great artist in her own right: Titanic Rising is an incredible album... Her voice control is something to behold. Long live weyes boold!

Heard this song a thousand times since 1970. This young woman nails it down. Tone, phrasing and vibrato are all perfect. I've never seen anyone even try Joni's version of this song and there's a good reason why.

Can we talk about how gracefully and hauntingly Natalie has covered Kate Bush, Stevie Nicks, and now Joni Mitchell? I love that her voice has this timelessness and warmth; qualities that make the folk / soft rock songstresses from the 60s/70s so great.

My parents also bonded over Joni. I remember listening to miles of aisles in the car over and over again. Her music made me feel depths of emotion my little body didn’t understand. It’s fitting that as an “adult” I would find myself haunted by Weyes Blood. Everything comes full circle - I think Joni did a song about that.

A friend just turned me on 2 this amazing talent!!! I looked to see if she was million vanilli ing it! Incredible performance & gift, last girl I heard that gave me chills like this was byAmy winehouse,& Allison krauss, very few caucasian girls have such soul..how do you pick out a fav joni song, but this has always been mine, love csny version 2, dc rests in peace!!! Ps zep did a great cover of this 2, as a medley during dazed & confused. I know many great musicians honored joni, going to California, a tribute 2 her..maybe Robert, who knows incredible talent, maybe writing a song 4 this songbird 2..lastly I sent to my best friend who is obsessed with joni her whole life, she was blown away too.. cream always rises to the top , my grannie taught me, in a sea of auto tuning..dear God thank you4 this blessed voice!!!

OMG this is spellbinding. Weyes Blood's the best white musician in the US right now. Even if she just sang covers like this she would be extraordinary but the fact that she is also one of the best songwriters of her generation puts her right at the top.

She is excellent and this is a superb cover. But for me LP (Laura Poligizzi) is out of this world. I saw her live in Birmingham last year , and that gig was the best I have seen since the 1980''s. Her power and onstage charisma reminded me of Freddie Mercury and David Bowie.

@@keithbate9405 I’m convinced you made this LP person up. I can’t find anything anywhere about them
@keithbate94052 жыл бұрын
@@loganslone9436 Funny that. In my post I posted that LP is the stage name of Laura Pergolizzi. The live performance of my favourite track by her "Lost on you " has "only had " 1,076, 351,894 views with 5.5m views. Compare /contrast this live performance. Some made up artist (lol) ps I like the (2022) Weyes Blood album. I rate it number 6 on my 2022 album list after Sharon Van Etten, Interpol, Suede. First Aid Kit and Florence and the Machine.
@loganslone94362 жыл бұрын
@@keithbate9405 I wasn’t starting a fight, man, you don’t have to compare the two artist’s numbers. But you wrote a completely different name in the original comment, so when I looked up Laura Poligizzi nothing came up. I’m excited to start listening to Laura Pergolizzi though! I definitely am finding more music under that name. Hopefully she’ll be another artist for me to obsess over.
