TL;DW: the Warwick is by far the superior rifle. The 7615 is reliable, but ageing and can only get second hand. Taipan has issues that need to be sorted out. Comparison videos are stupid because they are too subjective.

As far as I am aware the 7615 and 7600 have no interchangable parts. Possibly the trigger group or parts in it. To fit a but stock from a 7600 to a 7615 you need an adaptor plate from Mesa Tactical which is what I had to do to fit the Magpul 7600 stock to my 7615. The receiver on the 7600 is bigger therefore everything in it is also bigger.

One thing that wasnt touched on is portability, the ability to separate uppers and lowers makes it a significantly more transportable package.

Thats a fair point. Both Taipan and Warwick can be separated. 7615 can have it's but removed to reduce length for travel.

Easiest thing to do would be to delete the rear receiver extension and replace it with a folding mechanism. Don't need a buffer/spring on a pump action rifle.
@TheFORUNNERGaming
@TheFORUNNERGaming Жыл бұрын
@@schrodingersgat4344 Having seen them down here in NZ, having the ability to let the bolt go in a straightpull and have it go into battery, vs forward and back, is a good thing. The spring needs to be tuned to the action, rather than just bog standard AR tension. We have VZ58 straightpulls and those springs are what they use in the full auto/semi variants and its a bit of a workout.
@schrodingersgat4344
@schrodingersgat4344 Жыл бұрын
@@TheFORUNNERGaming While that may be: It does nothing for the compactness of the firearm. [It's my biggest gripe about the AR platform.] With the VZ 58; all of the relevant parts are within the receiver. The action is not, thus, overlong. You can make the gun shorter without need of disassembly. Unless the folding stocks are illegal. Then the whole point is moot. [I hadn't heard anything about that., if they are]
@TheFORUNNERGaming
@TheFORUNNERGaming Жыл бұрын
@@schrodingersgat4344 wouldnt be surprised if folding/adjustable stocks go on the chopping block in aus if they havent already. A sig MCX straightpull would be the optimal solution, the benefits of a spring powered action, no buffer tube, and same AR interface and the ability to rechamber, would be my ideal platform.

I am wondering if the Warwick would have won the accuracy test if it had a longer barrel? it appears the owner of it chose the tiny 14" version. Might be better if it had a 16" or 20" Light or heavy/varmint. You have options
@fhckoutdoors
@fhckoutdoors Жыл бұрын
Barrel length doesn't necessarily equate to 'more accuracy'. Regardless, I doubt it could beat what the Taipan did. Three rounds on top of each other at its best, sub-quarter MOA at it's worst.

It would appear from what I have seen of the Taipans that are turning up at my club the accuracy is very good, we have multiple WFA's & 7615's & find the WFA's of all barrel length & weight seem to prefer heavier projectiles. A good 7615 will shoot 1-1.5 MOA with all weights.

Thanks for the reviews mate. I just got my licence A and B in VIC approved recently and just wanted something that works like the Mossberg 500 (C licence in Vic FFS). I'm now trying to find out what a potentially left handed shooter can get that isn't a unreliable lever action (i assume pumps are more reliable the lever guns).

So I’m seeing a lot about cam pins breaking in the taipan - some comments have reported that it even arrived broken. How on earth are they breaking in the first place? And how are they even arriving with it broken? I’ve shot the 7615 in 3 gun comps - thought it was pretty good, but forking out 4.2k for the Warwick makes me baulk due to that price range. Which was why I found the taipan appealing. Not quite sure now…
@fhckoutdoors
@fhckoutdoors Жыл бұрын
Apparently it is a heat treating problem, according to SCSA. In the particular gun I tested the cam pin is hitting the recess at the front of the receiver, which it definitely isn’t supposed to do.

In terms of AR parts for the WFA1: triggers (e.g. Timney, Wilson Combat, mil-spec etc) all drop in and uses regular trigger and hammer pins, grips, buffer tubes/stocks (except weird shit like the Hera CQR), and barrel extention all go in fine. Bolt carrier group stuff is all different and no interchangeability.

@FHuCK Outdoors sadly it seems that way, but even if I had free choice, I most likely would have went with the 7615 anyway. Picked it up for $1600, much more affordable then all the others, proven platform and does everything I need.
