Pump Action Rifle Workout

Join Jack and Danny on a day of fixing waters and protecting assets by removing feral camels from the property, and the living realm.
Jack Uses the Wedgetail MPR Mod2 308 which proves its effectiveness on larger groups of camels.
As we aren't permitted semi automatic rifles in Western Australia it makes Jack work a bit, but it's proving to be quite reliable.

The pumping gets in the way. They make rifles you don’t have to pump and you can stay on target between shots.

That" stoppage" call out was pure gold. I remember doing that years after I got out with some of my civ pals at the farm hunting yotes. I felt foolish as hell. They all thought it was hilarious. Nice to hear someone else drop it in the moment. Keep up the great stuff dude.

Great work you fellas are doing, these camels do untold damage. We know it's not the animals fault but as custodians of the land we are obligated to make sure the native animals have precedence here. Danny is a top driver, going around those dead roots etc and not flogging the guts out of the ute and getting you onto them consistently

Love your camel cull videos. I see you looking at the mag when there's a failure. Have a separate mag dump bag for them for further testing. It could be the manufacturer or a follower or spring failure. If you need mag followers or springs you got some brothers over here that could help.

I noticed you had a bit of difficulty inserting the mag into the rifle at 6:50. You may already know these tricks this but to keep this issue from happening again you can either insert the mag into the rifle with the bolt open or you can load the magazine to one or two less rounds than full.

6:52 when you have trouble with your mags locking in its sometimes because its got one too many rounds in it. Best way is to open your bolt then put it in the mag and it'll lock right up

Also, get an undermount bipod, or use shooting sticks, heck, a large blanket folded up will really help steady the rifle. And it’s smoother if buddy keeps speed and you learn to shoot on the move. You will pace with the camels better.

You’re underestimating how bumpy it is for him mate, can’t shoot on the move on that ground. Bipods are more of a hindrance with that troopy too, big engine running throws off your aim. I’d say he’s doing a bloody good job as he is!

Any rest you put down would always be nodged out when he pumps it. It'd be good for a bolt, but unrealistic to say the least for this.

Hi Jack, the cameras/communication system is a great way to monitor water, animal health and movement but also rustling. This still occurs where i live....maybe you're too far away for these individuals to make it worthwhile. Great videos...Cheers from East Coast.

Both would likely help however the ‘main task’ of the day wasn’t shooting, it was water point maintenance so the ute is set up for that. Also very difficult with 2 people to have a drone going also.

I really really really hope that you can get that semi auto license sometime, just these few videos I have watched you have cleared out over 100 camels, have you thought about a pistol for dispatching them after you clean up with the rifle? A 10mm or a 45ACP has to be cheaper then a 308 I would think, are you able to get a semi auto pistol any easier or would a larger revolver make more sense?

I use a 308. And its a 3.5x vortex prism optic. I've now swapped it out as it was limiting me a fair bit. Generally we don't like taking the 308's out past 300m

If you get some more mags, I'd look at Lancers are Gen3 Pmags, something with a window. For target stuff it's not super important but stuff like this is where they shine. How do you guys not blow a tire every outing?
