Even though he's not the same, he's still the better "stop gap" QB option . Jets need to learn how to properly develop QBs . There is no reason in keeping Rodgers just so you might win some games next year and that should seldom be the reason. You HAVE to find a new head coach, and THAT coach should have a plan for the future ... if that plan includes Aaron, fine, but it might make more sense to give the new guy what HE needs to succeed if he wants to go with an alternative signal caller. Rodgers is NOT going to take the Jets to the Super Bowl, and at 41, how many years could you possibly hope to let him lead the team? Personally, I don't see the unity in the team that leads to wins, so something is wrong besides the fired coach.

The Rodgers slight is overblown. Yes, he's 41. Yes, things have gone bad this season. He's made some mistakes, but he's not the problem. Keep in mind, it takes a year and a half to fully come back from an Achilles tear... speaking from experience. This is his first year back and there's a bunch of issues on this team that's not on him. He's still been an average to good QB this year. The team needs a good experienced coach and DLine upgrades (DT and DE). This unit will be better next season building chemistry along with a good headcoach and some better/tougher position coaches.

@CenkZappa I agree, he's not the same. Keep in mind, he's still rusty physically and mentally. It took me a year and a half to get comfortable on the basketball court again after my Achilles tear. I played scared for the first few months coming back. I feel like Rodgers is playing at 65-70% of what he was right now. I believe he can get back to 80-85% towards the end of the season going on to next season.

Time to bring back Rex Ryan as Jets head coach for the 2025 season. He's the only head coach that got the team almost back to the SB twice. He wants to come back to a team that not only his late father helped contribute to getting the Jets the only SB title but because of his familial loyalty to the team outside of Woody Johnson who still wants to play Jr. G-man with Trump for another 4 years instead of focusing on his team getting better.
