Just wanted to say I enjoy watching your videos. It's definitely your best race yet. Your bike sounds pretty mean with the upgrades. I was curious what you did.... Exhaust, EJK, and intake? I also have a 250f and was thinking about upgrading the engine but didn't know if it makes a significant difference. Are you happy with it?

Thanks for the Comment! TLDR I'm happy with the kit, yes its a significant difference! now onto the wall of text and more in depth explanation of my bikes development progress... The last upgrade I've done was the Forcecam 275cc Big Bore Kit (Brazilian company, My kit included: Titanium spring retainers, Piston/Cylinder, Clutch Plates/springs, Athlon Programmable ECU, Race cam, 12T front sprocket) and the bike has definitely got enough power for me as it stands now. If you want a more detailed idea of the kit check out "thatguy 771"'s youtube videos on it and even more powerful kits. I was really impressed with how it ran and I was worried that I might lose some of the low luggability the stock motor had and it really didn't change which really surprised and impressed me. The bike definitely is faster than it was both in acceleration and top end speed which was pretty much the last complaint I've had. The reason I put money down on the 275cc kit was really just to dip my toes in and see If I'd like to get a race bike in addition to the CRF250F (definitely keeping it now). I've been looking at the 2022-2024 CRF250RX (2025 is now on that list) as a potential bike to get and the power they produce at 37hp and are 30lbs lighter compared to a 20hp 265lb CRF250F is a bit of a blind leap for me. So for me its much easier to swallow 900 dollars in a big bore kit than it was to jump into a 8-10k bike I may or may not like. I say that because all Ive ever been on have been trail bikes, which are the Yamaha PW50, 2001 Honda XR100r (10hp 174lbs),1990 Honda XR200r (23hp 224lbs dry), 01 XR400r (34hp 257lbs dry), 2020 CRF250F. I have test rode some of my friends bikes and I'm not a big fan of 2-strokes (250/300 KTM's) power delivery and I found that I dont really care for how little Yamaha's turn in comparison to the CRF250F. So far what I've done performance wise (not the entire list of mods to my bike) 2020 CRF250F (4100.00 used) 275cc Big Bore Kit (896.96) 07 CRF250R Front end (725.81 I reused F fender) Tuscany Racing Rear shock (446.73) Tuscany Racing Exhaust Pipe (267.97) Removed entire airbox top (free) I've been happy with the bike the last few races after I did the 07 CRF250R fork/triple swap in March 2024. I did the Tuscany Racing Rear shock/front fork upgrades midway through last year and the Morrison IL 6/20/23 race was the first time I felt like the bike didn't let me down. Since then I've not complained about the rear shock at all, but the front forks still left much to be desired in my opinion. I just felt like the front end which was finally safe to run on was just beating me like a rented mule after every race, so I finally relented and bit the bullet and did a front end swap with a 07 CRF250R front end. My only complaints after the 07CRF250R swap was really top end speed and acceleration which isn't a huge drawback in harescrambles but they're the easiest places to pass if you can do it. This race was a great test overall and in the top speed departments and I'm very happy with the bike. Before in other hare scrambles I'd have guys just pull away from me while my bike is topped out at the rev limiter on the stock/EJK'd motor.

Thanks for the feed back. Im 43 myself and just getting into the sport so the crf 250f suits me pretty good. I dont need a motorcross bike at my age. But I wouldn't mind having a little extra hp when twisting the throttle.

@@nickbragdon9963 No problem, I totally understand the horsepower situation with the 250F. If you've got the suspension working well enough for you then I'd go for power upgrades. I personally out rode the suspension (me @ 220lbs) and it cost me a few bruises and scrapes in the process to the point I didn't trust the bike enough to go faster.

For suspension upgrades, I just did the heavy duty BBR springs front and rear. I wanted to try the cheap route and see if I liked it. I think it made a big difference compared to stock suspension. Im happy with it for now, but I might upgrade in the future. As far as power upgrades I like the big bore kit that you got as a option. Seems to be a big bang for your buck for power vs. a regular exhaust and tune. Good job on your race. Seemed like people can hear you coming up behind them now.
