It seems to me that Wargaming has chosen to go down the long route of putting our beloved game World of Tanks into the grave... Here's my full analysis of the new, Tier 8 Italian Premium TD, the Vipera...

@@CB-nl5jc i dont see any td is OP except the 268/4, Turtle MK1, T110E3 and this but the turtle almost never gets played and is way too slow, e3 is also slow and 268/4 is russian and the 279e is still a thing... havent you noticed how relevant mediums are these times. for example the 430U, 140, TVP, CS, Leopard, STB, 907, K-91 and UDES are insane in their own ways

I'm gonna be honest, if the Vipera would have been balanced and not frustrating to play (because of the bad accuracy and dispersion), I'd have bought it. In this state, being toxic for the players and for the enemies, it's just not fun to play and to play against it, so I'm not gonna buy it. Seems like this is the minority of players though, because WG continues to put in overpowered premiums, so it has to sell sadly

Here are my two cents. I think, even though WG made a lot of bad decisions over the years from community and gameplay perspective... I think the biggest problem is ourselves. Those OP broken premium tanks just sell like crazy. We vote with our wallets and whenever they introduce a balanced tank like premium Yoh for example... people complain, calling it "trash" or whatever. But whenever they see this sweet sweet Skoda tier 8 premium that is even better than tech tree tier 9... they're ready to spend money right away. I say this being guilty of it myself, at least a little bit. I am an owner of Renegade. But at least it has clear disadvantages so I was okay with buying it.

Except the vipera has weakspots. 122mm guns can overmatch turret roof, it has 20mm side plates underneath the tracks that can be overmatched as it comes over a ridge, and weak shoulder plates when it’s angled that tier 8’s can pen with standard rounds And the lower lower plate is 20mm too and overmatchable So why are you spreading misinformation?

I quit a few years ago (whenever the 268v4 completely broke CW's) I had been wanting to quit for a while at that point due to things like the 252u defender, medium turret armour buffs but finally having 20-28 268v4's in every single game slapped me hard enough to quit. Booted the game up the other day for shits and giggles and boy did I giggle at the state of the game... whilst I was in the game I took a look at my friends list and most of my old friends and omni clanmates, some of whom went to fame, meme etc. all hadn't been on the game for 2 months, 3 months, 4+ etc. That tells a story when a significant percentage of the best players in the game (who aren't youtubers making money off of it) are all quitting the game, it shows the game is going in the wrong direction and alienating it's biggest fans (the people who actually research the game and learn all the nuances of it and want to contribute to the health and balance of the game) Catering to those who don't care about health and balance gets WG a bigger paycheck in a shorter amount of time though...

I havent played in years until 2 weeks ago but i still see plenty of folk still online from a few years ago. The thing is with newer people.. so many want to play competitively for rewards etc but to get the needed tanks the MM sees to it that you will feel pain from frustration grinding up the tank lines and rebalancing when you get there even if you spend money. I dont care much anymore as i've finished nearly all tank lines to where i want. I can enjoy the odd good game where the match up is fairly good, and laugh at people going mad in chat getting stomped... its sad the chat isnt open anymore it made the competition more fierce but except when ppl try get personal... lots of emo ppl with all this frustration

I knew many of them for 3-4 years+ and still keep in touch with some of them, the sheer state of the gameplay is the issue and these are people like me who were OMNI and some moved on to FAME and other top clans. You don't get a top level player abandonment like that unless there are core gameplay issues

In blitz wg added a similar tank but its a tier X and its a japanese heavy with an enlarged stb-1 hull that has a tiny lower plate the you can only pen with like 330 mm of heat pen and only if you’re slightly above it you can pen, and a pretty average cupola that I can’t pen with e50m from point blank and on top of all that an impossible chance to track it with damage, at least the amounts of times I have tried

at this point i just gave up. In my first battle after i downloaded the update i got literally five viperas and three smc 56 in enemy team, and while playing a 252u on gold i could not do anything with my accuracy. I have decided to get off world of tanks till october so maybe these tanks will get nerfed or if even not, there will me less of them. I think the best way to improve the game state would be returning old maps where you could properly flank people trying to sit hull down, Dragons Ridge comes to mind along with others. For me the frustration with the game isn’t the Tanks themselves, it is the removal of all the maps I used to enjoy, and the one they bring back; Pearl River, they butcher into a 3 lane corridor fest.

Also funny that it has 1400 HP, more than most mediums on tier 8. Also remember about Prototype (tier 8 american TD with turret) with weakspots, worse armour overall, worse mobility and 1150 HP only.

Worse speed. A turret that can handle 190mm of pen guns. And need to angle the front for the hull to be good. But has no side armor to do the angling with. But a up side is the 248 or whatever standard pen.. But same gold pen as this Viper thing... Viper players need to spam gold so they are not making credits in it. And the enemy players have to spam gold and still can not pen it. GG WG

I generally agree with your point, however after seeing the reaction of lots of people after the recent auction, nearly everyone crying how the vehicles were shit, boring, useless, crying about skins for older vehicles, what i see is that the community itself wants those busted tanks. Not everyone of course, but many. They want to easily open their wallet and shit on poor players who can't buy the newest powercreep OP tanks, or the ones who have to grind tech tree tanks. In other popular multi player games you can't buy better gameplay but here you kinda can and lots of people in the community look for that experience, just look at the MM, full viperas.

I actually had 3 year break from wot, downloaded the game back 3 days ago, gave it a chance and played 20 games, the game is still in the same shit situation as it was when i quit, people only spamming gold so armor doesnt matter and if you dont spam gold/use op premiums you are fucked. Fun fact: There's a thing called HE, which everyone has access to. Guns of 120mm or Higher, simply load HE and derp the front, near the turret ring, dealing guaranteed ~200-300 damage per shot, which is roughly 7 shots and the tank's gone. Artillery is also not rare, so it is most definitely going to be clicked plenty. There's also platoons of fast tanks that like rushing these op tanks and tearing their asses apart both ways. Give it a bit of time, people will start realising it's weaknesses and soon it'll be just as bland as other tanks.

I would rather have seen the addition of the wheeled Italian TDs. They wouldn't be going EBR speed, but go maybe 60mph in a straight line, like an EBR without turbo mode. Plus, you could still give them the "DPM autoloader" mechanic but because of how squishy they are they'd be able to have better gun stats instead of them being fat tornvagns Edit: also, assault TDs getting HT health like this is dumb. If you want the benefits that come with being armored AND having the inherent benefits of the TD class (namely pen and damage), then you need to sacrifice something

You know, to be fair to Wargaming, there have been times where THEY were right and the community was not. Before the Type 59 came out, most of the people on the EU forums thought it would be underpowered. Yes, no joke. Absolutely they thought that. Meanwhile WG were worried if it isnt too strong but listened to feedback and released it... and the Type 59 broke the game for awhile. But in the current day I feel as if they just dont care at all. Skoda, 252U, the upcoming K-2 (I weep for the pain this will cause) - these are fixable game design mistakes. And the Chief and Object 726 (called 279E in-game) - ugh. A proper, passionat dev can fix WoT in or get it in a fixable state in 6 months. I feel as if WG no longer have passion for this game and it is now just cynical.

Take a look at the Obj. 259A and Udarniy if you're worried about the K-2 lol they're clone tanks, but one has less armor (240mm effective upper plate at the weakest), better gun handling and a top speed of 60kph. the other has more armor than an IS-7 (upper plate is 320mm+ effective) and can go 45kph, with 2,000 base dpm. And did i mention they both have V shaped hulls and >50mm turret roofs?

@@psnmadracer27 259A doesnt worry me as much. Udarniy is weird, IDK. K-2 is the most toxic IMHO since its literally above IS-4 armour on tier 8. The other oens are pike nosed, they arent as tough (though still tough)

@@light161_ and nothing at tier 8 can pen the Udarniy with gold rounds lol The weakest point on the turret is 300mm, which is the first 2 pixels next to the gun mantlet. Beyond that it's all crazy angles at 350-380mm+ And the K-2 has the same roof type as the IS-3, where >90mm guns can overmatch it. The Undarniy does not. A T110E3 can't even overmatch it

Wargaming is leading the game to be a pay to win game. I miss the wot in the past when not lots of prem tanks and hull down beast to lead the game in victory. Therefore, each tanks have the different characteristics to go to the different places to do the things what they should do. Then the prem account, the strong prem tanks show of which ruin the fun and bring lots of id ot to the game makes it unplayable. Its not all about skills but money. Bring me back the old ver of wot.

Vipera was introduced as a perfect Caliban food. He maybe smacks you once for 440, you smack him twice for 600, totaling your damage on 1200. Easy. If fact, you can just right click him.

If WG could introduce a mechanic for MM where you can only fight against your tier, there would be less balance work between tanks since you only fight against your tier. Plus, it would push more people into tier 10 and cause less frustration for the guys who are still at the bottom of the roster. Afterwards, it's not said that all the players adhere but we would be closer to a game where the skill is more important than the tank.

The tier 10 hull down can only be penned by JPE 100 heat shells in one tiny spot with like 40% chance of pen??? The chieftain is easy to pen with those shells. For me one of the most frustrating things currently is, that WG is balancing new tanks around their base pen. Bourrasque was already an example of it and now once again they come up with tanks that have stupid armor and broken ideas that make you able to dish out a big amount of damage in short time.. but at what cost?? The base pen is low for a td, but it's made so stupid, that you can bypass that easily and play full gold. It's not like it has bad mobility, so you can adjust it a bit by using a turbo. The tech tree tanks are balanced the same way.. bad base pen and stupid turret armor. Did you see the tier 7?? Over 300mm armor on most parts of it's turret. Ridiculous!

Hey I have a new tech tree idea it’ll be some Eastern European country and the tanks will be heavies that have random spaced armor everywhere and a 4 round auto-re-loader with 750 alpha. It’s top speed will be 70km and have autobounce angles on the sides and rear. It’ll be called the THT. VZ. TVP. CS STRV MLE 55.
