Also fun fact about driving a police car in traffic: you can perform police chases! -There is a chance that a random driver will start running away from you, if they do you get a notification saying something along the lines of, *full car name of respective driver* is fleeing. It doesn't seem like this happens consistently at all, from my experience it appears completely and utterly random, though I have a vague memory of a few times running into someone in a cop car, provoking them, and then them gunning it as opposed to pulling over like they would if anything happened to their car otherwise. Though this was rare. -Driving with the sirens on doesn't seem to affect the chances, but does mean that those who won't run will pull over. -If the driver gets away, and despawns, they escape and you get a notification saying that. -The goal is to stop them at any costs, it does not matter how damaged your car or their car becomes, how many miles you tread, the only things that can come of this (at least as far as I know) are that the driver escapes, or you apprehend them by stopping them and sitting next to them for a bit. Once you apprehend them, they just sit there. -You can do pretty much anything in a police chase so long as the suspect doesn't get away, this includes resetting and spawning in from of them or spawning a plane or whatever. I haven't seen many people talk about this feature for some reason, but it's fun one that I've played a lot with It's possible stuff has changed or I got something wrong but I've played so much with this I'm sure it's in the ballpark, at least. Do experiment if you want

If you use RLS Career mod, they add that into career mode; so any police car you buy or build (cars with a police light bar and police livery) can be used to pursue cars and earn money. Seems to be more frequent chases with RLS mod as well lol. Also you can brake check NPC and if they hit you, they'll normally run 😂

BeamNG is such a sick game project tbh, the developers are passionate perfectionists, with the game "only" being 0,33. I expect the game to be the epitome of realism in driving in each and every aspect, even though it kinda already is, with computers getting more and more powerful the possibility of EVEN more insane features become realistic, for example the entirity of the environment being interactable, like trees falling and everything you hit breaking just as they would in real life, this feature in and of itself would be revolutionary imo, since aesthetic parts all are completely rock solid currently, the feel of hitting them is far from real, a car wouldn't bounce like a bouncy ball after hitting a wall. There is so much potential in this game and I am happy to be a part of it now for almost 5 years!

More cool details: Square hay bales are randomized a bit, when you spawn a few of them next to each other they will have different sticking out hay details and can have different orientation. Similarly, the tree logs have randomized textures. You can attach shipping containers together by equipping container couplers in parts selector and clicking on them when they are touching the other container. You can also attach different containers to the container trailer the same way. If you remove the wires in container trailer parts selector, the tail lights will no longer be affected by the truck's ones. Fuel tanks of all vehicles have fuel sloshing physics, this is most noticable on the T-Series but exists on every car. When your radiator smokes, it physically loses coolant, so if it smokes for a long time, the radiator will stop working as it will lose all coolant. Glass on the vehicles is an actual structural part, when you deform a door frame it takes more force the first time until the glass breaks, and after that it's easier to deform further.
